Elysium Demo v0.2.29 – Patch Notes

Hey everyone! Sorry for the silence, we’ve been focused on fixing systems and cleaning up a bunch of annoying bugs that many of you reported. Thanks a lot for playing and sending feedback, it really helps.

Here’s what this update brings:

✨ Added

  • The game now pauses in singleplayer when the ESC menu is opened.

  • Added an "I Am Stuck" button for safe respawning.

  • Death markers now appear on the map and compass.

  • Added new triangular half walls to the building system.

🔧 Improved

  • Improved NPC AI movement and decision-making. There are still areas to improve and we are continuing to work on it.

  • Updated the water shader to something much prettier.

  • Refreshed UI map icons.

  • General performance improvements. There may still be some FPS drops, but we are working on it.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Aggroed NPCs no longer chase forever.

  • Fixed NPCs always running instead of walking when moving slowly.

  • Various small environment fixes.

  • Map saving now works correctly.

  • Temporarily removed Light Rain weather.

  • Fixed save and load issues when returning from the main menu.

  • Dropped inventory now saves properly.

  • Fixed a bug that caused players to become immortal after leaving the game while dead.

  • Fixed Lithanite tool animation glitches.

  • Fixed buildings sometimes colliding with invisible obstacles.

  • All sound settings now apply correctly.

📝 What’s On Our Plate Next (For the Demo)

Here are the things we are planning to work on next, based on your feedback:

  • Reworking the hunger and starvation system. Many of you reported that it feels shallow, so we will add more depth, introduce liquid containers, and rebalance hydration.

  • Localization. We will start with a few languages such as Simplified Chinese and German, and expand over time.

  • Full-body player animations, especially better and more dynamic mounted animations.

  • Fixing UI scaling issues on wide and ultra-wide screens.

  • Investigating and fixing falling-through-map bugs.

  • Improving mounted creature movement and addressing related bugs.

  • Making the early game and quests easier to understand so players can get into the game more naturally.

  • Key remapping support.

  • Quality of life improvements for the inventory and building systems.

  • Continued FPS and performance improvements.

These are the tasks currently on our list for the demo. We might not get to all of them at once, but we will work through them steadily, one by one. If there’s something you’d like us to prioritize, or if we missed an issue that matters to you, please let us know. Thank you for your patience and for sticking with us. Thank you again for all your feedback, it’s been incredibly helpful. ❤️
