Thank you for checking out the update ✨

As we spoke about in our last dev log, this update is an intermediary step towards getting our base mechanics and systems in place for track laying and train movement. In parallel with this implementation, we also invested time in structuring our content modding pipeline to make the creation of locomotives, coaches, and trains much easier, both for our internal team and for future modders.

Note: This is currently only live for the Windows platform.

What's new?

  • Updated assets for tracks and scaffolding. Introduced Standard Gauge (1.43m) as default.
  • Ability to select trains from the Track Context UI.
  • Players can pick from two default trains now.
  • Data manager for all train related assets in game (internal).
  • Mod Manager - Helps in loading train related Mods (internal for now).
  • Scene Lighting changes - trying some new lighting settings.

There aren't a lot of content changes in the game with this patch. But we may have unfortunately introduced some bugs due to the shifts in the underlying structures of the game 🙈

Known bugs and issues

  • Clicking on Train doesn't enable Camera follow - only way to do camera follow is select track and click on enable/disable train
  • Avoid using hotkey "T" to enable all trains at once. Might result in some unexpected behaviour
  • Spawning trains on short tracks can cause Train to work weirdly

Under the hood we also moved to a brand new input system. On top of all that we squashed a long list of bugs, including some pesky derailments. Here is what is new.
