Global:
Simplified the Launcher's multiplayer page as much as possible to avoid confusing players. To restore the old view, click the "Advanced" checkbox.
Replacing dgVoodoo files with different versions on Windows is now restricted, as it was used for cheating.
The custom FPS limiter will now be enabled even on Windows if the FPS was overridden to exploit its flaws.
Updated dgVoodoo wrapper from 2.86.3 to 2.86.5.
The "Reset all Configs" function will now ask whether you want to reset only the main configs or also reset the keybindings file.
Fixed a Windows 10/11 issue where the OS could falsely mark the game client as hung if startup loading took longer than 5 seconds. This could cause loss of focus, loss of fullscreen state, and a stuck loading mouse cursor on screen.
Fixed crashes that could occur in passthrough mode. The game should now be more stable on Linux and Steam Deck.
Code optimization providing a small FPS boost (around 3%).
Falling Rocks spawn rate is now FPS-independent in both Multiplayer and Single Player.
Greatly improved accuracy of the custom FPS limiter and FPS counter.
Fixed an instant startup crash that could occur on modern PC configurations with the shadow stack memory protection feature enabled.
Fixed another instant startup crash that could occur on some configurations if the Windows Styles library fails to handle the game window pointer.
Note: Thanks to Rangel Oblivion for excellent assistance in identifying the "Shadow Stack" and "Windows Styles" issues!
Multiplayer:
Dedicated server files now include the version number in the archive name. Fixed an outdated string in Mutators.txt. Updated RTserverdll.dll to the latest available version from the original 1.04 patch.
Scorpion Launcher damage reduced by 1%.
Nuke explosion radius increased by 15% - a long-awaited boost for the very narrow OG version, where you could often casually walk away. Escaping unscathed will now be a bit harder.
Increased projectile flight speed by 25% for the 80-damage plasma rifle.
Optimized Nuke effects. They should now have less impact on game when a shot projectile is preparing to explode.
Slightly reduced trail length to improve stability during moments of massive projectile spam.
Reduced the number of sparkles (visual-only effect) that the Shredder with green shells produces on first wall contact - from a constant 7 down to a variable 3–5.
Variable firebug amount (1–3) for shotgun, pistol, and crossbow now has lower chances for 2 and 3 (soft optimization).
Further optimization of explosion effects.
Slightly reduced C-Bore blood spawn rate.
Frags made with Razor Wind are now saved to Steam Leaderboards. Play at least one match and all your frags (including those from before this update!) will be uploaded.
Fixed an important original issue: shading for colorless characters. The original shading was very strong and sharp, often giving characters a polygonal dark-gray appearance. This not only made models look worse but also made them harder to see on maps. Shading has been rebalanced to be softer and more eye-friendly.
