A big update bringing the demo much closer to the quality you can expect from the 1.0 launch.
NEW TRAILER
You can watch the new trailer to get a glimpse of what's to come...
Lots of cool stuff on the horizon!
You'll now have access to Macrotransaction's store in the Extras menu after playing a few stages.
Unfortunately for him, everything he sells has to be acquired through gameplay.
In the demo, you'll be able to buy a few select items.
Get NeuronCoins by leveling up and spend them in the store!
You can now enjoy Surprise Mechanics™ in the store!
Open totally optional lootboxes that do nothing except take your hard-earned NeuronCoins in exchange for a cool animation and a small chance to get a bunch of extra coins.
Some call this gambling. I personally refer to this as quality player engagement.
(Use this feature responsibly.)
+ New Surprise Mechanics voice lines
Added Zen Mode with 4 unique boards.
Zen Mode is great if you just want to unwind and press some buttons.
You can level up inside Zen Mode by completing boards, interacting with different modes, or just spending time playing around.
And interact with...
Destroy all targets by dropping a bomb on them.
Try to get as many targets in a single hit as possible for bonus points!
An optional task that generates points while you do other tasks.
This one is pretty luck-based. You can have an amazing pinball run that lasts a long time, or be unlucky like me and have the ball drop straight down...
The first keyboard task you'll encounter.
Press the left lane to play the note on the left, and the right lane to play the note on the right.
Or use A / D or Left / Right Arrow keys and keep your mouse free for other tasks!
This one really destroys your brain.
Blast a swarm of enemies until completion.
You can choose between a few different ways to play.
Auto Start
Automatically start the next board when you finish the current one.
Random Board
Play a random board whenever you complete the current one.
Manual Board Selection
Change the board using the buttons at the bottom of the screen, or Q and E.
Reset
Press R to manually reset the current board.
Play all the boards back-to-back and try to improve your time.
In the full game, you'll be able to speedrun all 30 boards at once!
A small marathon.
Coming in the full game.
Play a randomized board configuration with random tasks appearing infinitely.
Complete them, get new random tasks, and keep going.
Added more customization options!
You can now change:
Task colors
Cursor and cursor colors
Background opacity
Task background opacity
Player Card Pattern
Player Card gradient color
Player Card title
Added icons for some of the content you'll unlock in the full game.
You can also access the secret messages you unlock in some stages by completing secret tasks in the Extras menu.
Leaderboards are finally here.
Intrigued to see how you compare to everyone else?
Just complete a stage and click the Leaderboards button.
Added an option for touch support.
This is still pretty early on, so expect a few bugs.
This was a no-brainer from the start, and a highly requested feature. It was something I was going to do later on, but I decided to bring a little preview...
Because playing with touch or a pen is so much fun.
I actually managed to beat all my mouse and keyboard top scores.
I'll definitely need to fine-tune a bunch of things here, so if you use touch, please share your feedback!
Added Neuralgrades (Power-ups) to Stages 9 and 10.
Most task hitboxes have been adjusted to be more generous.
This means every task should feel snappier, and you can flick from task to task more easily without being afraid of misclicking.
Made the turn speed for the dial slightly faster.
This optional task will now always activate when you complete the board.
This should help fast players who can complete the board before the task activates.
Adjusted the Parry Panel animation to be smoother.
You'll now receive leveling rewards up to Level 10, up from Level 7.
Created a Chat Interface for the Stage 4 story beat.
Added some extra tutorial screens and text to explain some advanced mechanics.
You can now reset your campaign progress to grab missing collectibles or make different choices while keeping your unlocks and high scores.
For the demo, you'll have to beat all 10 stages to unlock this.
In the full game, it will be available after you finish all 60 levels of the main campaign.
You can now rebind NeuralSurge (default Spacebar) and add a secondary button for your right-click tasks.
This should help pen users bind a more comfortable key to use.
You can activate Left-Click Only Mode to replace right-click tasks with tasks that can be completed using left-click or touch.
This should help players using devices without other buttons.
Added sliders for sound.
You can change sound volumes before starting the game on a fresh save.
Added more FX for Neural Surge.
Added reminder FX for the player to use Neural Surge.
Added a few more customization titles for the demo version.
Added an easter egg for interacting with something in the Main Menu a lot...
Fixed a few minor bugs and translation issues.
Pheew, that's it for now.
