My dearest nubs, Welcome to the 14th edition of Nubby News! If you haven't been around since April/May of 2025 and you're here because you're craving your Weekly Nubby News fix, I regret to inform you that A) nubby news ain't weekly no more and B) nubby news has actually never been weekly and you are either misremembering that or losing your mind. Speaking of weeks, quite a few have gone by since I last spoke publicly about nubby, so I decided to mainly dedicate this edition of Nubby News to breaking my silence about... nubby's mobile port!!?! Aside from the nubby mobile status update, I'm starting with a brief run down of last Thursday's v1.4.3 patch and also discussing localization plans for nubby. Enjoy! V1.4.3 Patch:
========== Over the past couple months I've kept working on NNF every now and then, primarily just fixing issues as they're reported to me. As of 2 days ago, I decided that my list of miscellaneous changes had grown long enough to warrant a patch, so I put out a patch! If you recall my announcement in Nubby News #13 about focusing my attention to new projects of mine, this patch is the sort of update that you can expect for the time being. That announcement does not however apply to nubby mobile because preparing the port for release is my top priority right now. While no content updates are planned for nubby in the foreseeable future, I don't think I'm probably ever going to be done updating nubby to make technical / accessibility improvements. Thursday's patch v1.4.3 is a great example of such an update - including mainly bug fixes, the addition of the first of hopefully many localizations - Brazilian Portuguese, and a revamp of the cyborg nubby skin cosmetic artwork as per request of the original artist behind the cosmetic. I kind of just glossed over the whole localization thing, but I really want to express how great I think it is that the text of nubby can be read in Brazilian Portuguese now! Shoutout to Frank Lopes, a localization volunteer of the NNF community for putting together the Brazilian Portuguese localization! Frank deserves all the credit for the great work!
