We've had a great start to the year. It's only March and already two playtests are done.
We added a new tutorial, the issues we had before were never mentioned again. I'm counting them as fixed, not forgotten!
We predicted the numbers on carts in the sequence. Already, we've seen players use those predictions to test strategies and confirm their hypothesis. Just like real scientists haha.
We added 50+ carts and I don't think we've seen the most powerful combos yet!
Our journey to converting the game into Toystyle isn't done, yet we can see already see its impact.
We're addressing how the piles and tooltips look and interact next, before tackling the reward flow. And we've only got one left monster to convert. Everyone is looking out and waiting for you, Gruff!
Here's what's coming up further down the road.
Early April: Wellington Armageddon + Steam Playtest
Early May: Steam Deckbuilder Festival + Steam Playtest
We're waiting to hear about our inclusion in June and July festivals. Fingers crossed!
That's right! The Wellington Game Review is hosted by Armageddon Expo!! For those who live out of town, the Armageddon Expo is like a ComiCon. This time around, we'll be sharing the WGR booth with 4 other games.
Fledgling = Fledgling is a 2D pixel-art game set in an original fantasy world. Its two core aspects, deckbuilding combat and branching narrative are deeply intertwined, putting player agency at the heart of the experience.
Coastal Postal = Soar across the sunlit Archipelago in your trusty delivery seaplane. Explore diverse islands, meet charming locals, and deliver packages by sea and sky in this short cozy adventure.
Cooking for MA! = Go on an adventure through the spirit world to save your grandma from an evil sea serpent using the power of cooking! Cook dishes for different characters, exploring Korean cuisine in this story about identity, diaspora, and family.
NoteWorthy = NoteWorthy uses the language of games to teach the language of music, providing a low friction experience for learners as they practice reading notes on the stave, as well as reinforcing other basic music theory concepts through play.
Whether you're at Armageddon for the autographs, the wrestling, the cosplay, or to stop the Clamageddon!!!, come by the booth and say hi! No worries if you can't make it in person, we'll turn on the Steam playtest so everyone can try it over Easter weekend (April, 3, 4, 5). Tune into Discord then for a special announcement!
Stay Super!
