Meet The Knights: Rufus and Silgur

Ah! There you are Your Grace. Another day, another Knight... well two, actually. I’d like to formally introduce you to the rough and ready Sir Rufus and the more poignant, Silgur of Groveshire...

INTRODUCING RUFUS OF GROVESHIRE

"Your Majesty! You are my saviour. My leader. My... to be... owner.

I am Sir Rufus of Groveshire. I am the last in my family line, and the last of my kind, some might say. Whispers have filtered through the forest and reached my pricked ears of your entry into the great Tower. It is such a joy to see it sparkle again. To see life return to these cold stone halls.

I must confess, I am not accustomed to such walls. I have spent many years beneath open skies, beneath canopies of oak and ash, where the moon was my only ceiling and the dirt my only floor. But I find myself... drawn here.

What do I enjoy, you ask? Well, I love spending time deep in the woods and frolicking out in nature - sniffing for prey, marking my territory, you know - experiencing the outdoors for what it really is. There is a freedom in it that is difficult to put into words. A wildness that I suspect will never fully leave me, no matter how fine the coat I wear.

I do not always take well to strangers. But those I call mine? Those I have chosen to run beside? I would sooner die than see harm come to them.

You can have my strength. My loyalty. My soul. Even... my whole body, if you so wish

I have known what it is to be untethered. To belong to nothing and no one. To howl into the dark and hear only silence in return. I do not wish to return to that life. I wish to spend my newfound freedom... by your side.

Will you let me?"

INTRODUCING SILGUR OF GROVESHIRE

“...Greetings, strange Sovereign who rules over these lands. I have... something to offer you.

Well, I only wished to offer you my... warmest congratulations. Which is a rare commodity. What you have accomplished... impeccable. The best hunters in the region have failed here. And when I say the best, I’m speaking of myself....

You see I’ve spent my life in Beaconsbury. Life there is a long-standing tradition in Groveshire, especially for those who would favour to be trained in the art of hunting. Eventually I became the count’s favourite huntsman. For I have the ability to track, and prey upon some of the greatest monsters Brizh has ever seen...

Well, some would say my relationship with the count of Groveshire is far from the finest... I do not wish to talk about the things I have done for now, but I hope more respect for my skillset will be given here, may you be interested.

Anyway, you seem like a dependable leader. Someone capable of handling operations with a finesse few strategists can match. I am a lone hunter. This wandering hunter’s solitude suited me. At least until I saw your Knight’s in action. I have an odd feeling that I might just belong here...

What do you say, Your Majesty? You may have my bow...”

WHO WILL YOU FAVOUR FOR YOUR ROUND TABLE?

Your Grace, it is time to decide who you will favour for your table? Will it be the rough Rufus or the fine hunter Silgur?

Wild Wits & Curve Games.
