🎨 Shadowforge Update – Layers, Timeline & Onion Skin Improvements
This update focuses on improving how layers, timeline interaction, and onion skin behave together. A lot of internal systems have been cleaned up to make the workflow more consistent and predictable.
Fixed issues where hidden layers (red eye off) would still appear on the canvas
Multiple layers can now be hidden at the same time correctly
Layer visibility now behaves consistently across:
Canvas rendering
Timeline
Onion skin
Timeline now properly syncs with the currently selected layer
Selecting a layer from the right-side panel correctly updates the active frame surface
Fixed cases where the timeline would not reflect the actual active layer
Onion skin now uses the real layer surfaces (s4 → s18)
Hidden layers are no longer shown in onion skin
Onion skin now behaves consistently with layer visibility
Added a new opacity slider for onion skin
Fully integrated with the Shadowforge UI style
Panel is:
Draggable (like other FX panels)
Adjustable using right-click drag
Includes Reset and Close buttons
Reduced conflicts between multiple draw/composite paths
Improved consistency between:
Canvas rendering
Timeline surfaces
Layer visibility logic
Better synchronization of:
current_frame
layershow
final_surf
This update focuses on stability and consistency rather than adding new tools
Some systems (like timeline multi-selection) are still being refined
