Hello everyone!
So sorry that this update is late. I was ready to share it with you last week, but there was a massive saving/loading bug that needed fixing. I was able to do that a few days later, but then there was another bug with one of the new features that I just couldn't let slide.Yet, here we are!But before I share more with you, don't forget that apart from a new monthly build, Demi-god supporters on Patreon also get a free Steam key, which allows for you to play even more consistent updates!
What's New?
I know that there's so much left to do in this game, but I couldn't resist making a map. So that's the main thing this month! You can view a full map showing a pixelated view of your world, and the chunks you've so far visited (and their adjacent chunks), but when you have a map "equipped" (I'll explain that, no worries), you can also see a minimap!A minimap is a great way of allowing you to see your surroundings without having to constantly open your big map, and possibly getting attacked by a monster. Wouldn't want that, would we?But what do I mean by "equipped"?
Well, one thing I really like about Minecraft mods, as well as Terraria's default game, is that you can hold items in a slot, separate from your inventory, and they affect your gameplay somehow. Like, you can be faster, or stronger, have more health, or - in my case - give you a minimap.I always liked the idea of giving the player a map, but I also think that it wouldn't hurt to have them earn it. Hence the need to craft a map and to equip it. It requires effort, and some decision-making. Do you really want to replace that one equip-slot-item with your map?
Currently, to make a map, you need 25 paper, which you can get from cutting wood logs on a cuttin station (of any kind). It's not particularly hard, and it probably won't be much harder. But hey, gotta start somewhere. The map updates any change you make to the world, and should save between sessions. You can also see world coordinates by hovering over any pixel on the map. I hope you enjoy it. If you want any features (map-related or otherwise), feel free to let me know! Anyway, here's the full changelog: Changes
