Hey Boss,

The sun’s setting over Chicago… so it’s time we had a sit-down.

From the first racket you ran to the latest empire you built, you’ve made your mark on this city. Today, we’re rolling out the final update for Empire of Sin. While this is the last one, the city won’t run without a Boss, so Chicago is still yours for the taking!

From all of us, it has been an honor doing business with you.

Stay sharp, Boss.

Patch Notes

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed 2 bugs related to weapon animations when a character could stay in an incorrect animation state during dual shots or while changing cover

  • Fixed a bug when a player could be stuck in the "Whack a Mole" mission.

  • Fixed errors playing sounds for Sylvia Tailor when hired, fired or interaction started.

  • Fixed a bug when the black market could swap incorrect weapons.

  • Fixed: Ambidextrous kills counted as two kills.

  • Fixed the ability to build unique building improvements in many precincts (applicable for improvements: Weiss Club and Macdonoughs Social Club).

  • Fixed the mistakes in the texts for the pop-up notification that appears when the boss runs away to another boss.

  • Fixed bugs with ability "Run and Gun":

  1. No cooldown.

  2. Incorrect AP cost.

  3. Incorrect notification "Ends Turn".

  • Fixed a bug that caused the Ability Information Panel to update incorrectly. This could show an invalid AP cost or 'Ends Turn' notification when changing targets or cells during a melee action.

  • Fixed a repetitive death animation for characters that were killed while they were in cover.

  • Fixed a bug with AI. Sometimes AI characters decide that skipping a turn is better than making a shot.

  • Fixed logic with max uses per turn for actions. It didn't work, we could see that the action was invalid, but we could still use it.

  • Fixed: White flickering visuals appear when zooming during combat or triggering conversations.

  • Fixed a bug with getting achievements "Bullseye" and "Trust Me".

  • Fixed: Attack interaction pop-up overlaps with radial commands menu.

  • Fixed: When we attack other bosses in their savehouses, we sometimes see them sitting down when the appearing animation finishes.

  • Fixed a bug with sorting order for UI elements in Crew Hierarchy window (sometimes the tooltip could be under other elements).

  • Updated the user experience while selecting the "Bribe" option before starting a battle. After you've chosen the "Bribe" option, the section will change to show the first enemy you can bribe on the right panel.

Balance and improvements:

  • Reduced the year when the black market shop starts selling better items

  • Added an advanced option for starting a new game - Proficiency Limit. The option allows to set max proficiency level for all characters to 6, allowing your favorite starting characters to grow further than before.

  • Doubled HP of reinforcements

  • Difficulty progression: each year starting from 1922 all enemies get 20% hp per year, up to +100% in total.

  • Added armor to all gangsters in safehouses for all bosses.
