Idosra Version 1.1.8 Brings a Few Key Updates

Idosra: The Electric Renaissance · published 20 Dec 2025, 06:58 UTC · build 21267364

Greetings! This update is a quick hot-fix that addresses a couple of problems that have surfaced recently. More important, we have also changed the location of save game files.

Your save game files will now be at the following locations:

  • Linux: (home)/.local/share/Stencyl/Idosra (or Idosra Demo)

  • Windows: (user)\\AppData\\Roaming\\Stencyl\\Idosra (or Idosra Demo)

This change affects the following files:

  • Save games: /pak/NUM.dat and /pak/NUM.bak

  • Global preferences: /def/config.dat

  • In-game preferences: /pak/prefs.dat

  • Feats (achievements): /pak/wins.dat

  • Keyboard config file: /def/config.dat

  • Gamepad config file: /def/pad.dat

The previous location was off of the application's installation directory.

What You Need to Do: In most cases, you shouldn't have to do anything. The game will first look for save files in the new location. If it doesn't find them, it will look in the original location.

Why was this change made: This change will help ensure your save game data is not lost if you uninstall the game. It is also a step needed to enable your option to use the Steam Cloud feature, which we would like to provide for you. More importantly, if in the future we need to change the game's directory structure, it will ensure your save game data is not lost.

Changelog

User Interface Updates

  • Added an option to resubmit achievements to Steam from the in-game achievements page. If you get an achievement while playing offline, this will allow you to get credited for it on Steam.

Gameplay

  • Update 1.1.6 resulted in a bug where the "VaSec Building" boss would disappear into the walls, which made it impossible to defeat. Bug has been fixed.

Engine

  • Changed location of save game files.

What's Cooking for the Future?

Unless a hotfix is needed, this update will be the last in the 1.1.x series. In the next couple of days we'll have some exciting announcements concerning what's in store for 1.2.x and also a sequel. Stay tuned!
