Hey everyone!

In the last few weeks, I’ve made a lot of progress on Solace Creek. I’d estimate that around half of the game is finished. Since the first level, I’ve added two more large areas and also gone back to refine the first level with more assets and details. Some of those updates are already available in the current demo version.

Finding the Heart of Solace Creek

I’m also getting closer to the atmosphere I want the game to have. When I start a game project, I have ideas, references, a vision—but a lot of what makes a game work only comes together while building it for me. The atmosphere, the pacing, the way different elements interact—these things reveal themselves in the process. Solace Creek has always been a horror game, but the more I work on it, the more I realize that mystery plays an equally big role. And sometimes, even a moment of levity can make the eerie parts hit harder. A good example is this small companion you can come across:

Finding the Sound of Solace Creek

I’ve also been working a lot on the music. Not only on the overall vibe I want to go for, but also how to incorporate it in the game. The soundtrack has to build tension without always being in the foreground, which makes it a challenge, but I think I’m finding the right balance. I recently finished a track for a new area that I really like. It also includes a small homage to one of the inspirations behind the game:

Thanks everyone 💕

A huge thank you to everyone who has been following and supporting Solace Creek! Seeing your feedback and excitement keeps me motivated, and I really appreciate every share, comment, and message. If you enjoyed the demo, spreading the word helps more than you know. More updates coming soon—I can’t wait to show you what’s next!

Community5 Sep 2026Devlog - Finding the FunHello everyone, I feel like I could start every devlog with the same phrase: "It's been a busy few months!" 😄 Together with Monster Theater, we conducted an internal playtest to get a feel for the current state of the game. I always find these extremely helpful, like a check-in on how the game is doing overall. It's easy to lose track of that when you're in the midst of something. Overall, the…Community16 Jul 2026Interview - Building a Stalker Horror Experience with Psychological WeightI had the pleasure of being a guest on El Joe's La Bóveda podcast to talk about Solace Creek, the history of survival horror, stalker horror mechanics, and the psychological dread that drives the game. Make sure to check out his podcast!Community8 Jul 2026Devlog - A Journal for HerHey lovely people, This June was a lot about something that grew directly out of the discussion from the last post, where we discussed about how the protagonist is interacting with the world. Around the same time, I'd also been sitting on an idea for collectible photos scattered through the game. During internal discussions those two things merged into one: a journal. It works on a few levels a…
