Space is big. Really big. There's all sorts of wonders and terrors that are hidden in vast expanse of space. So let's go find them! For more explorer minded (or loot gobliny types) you can deep scan empty sectors and find that empty sectors aren't so empty. What could they hide? Loot? Knowledge? Pirates? Space Creatures? There are well over 30 unique discoveries in the standard game, but all will take precious turns to uncover. Turns although they seem like an infinite pool, are just as precious a commodity, spend too many turns hyper-focused on an activity and you may miss out on an important event elsewhere or a mission might expire, or spend too much time scanning down every discovery and a pirate might interrupt your exploration. Will the time you spend scanning them down be worth it?

or in your travels, your sensors might pick up an anomaly trace that you can scan and discover a warp route to an undiscovered sector.

Spending the time to uncover a route to the anomalous sector will lead you into a one-time adventure narrative with lucrative loot and risks that can be affected by your ship type, chosen career path, what cargo and upgrades you have, or any number of factors that can ensure your victory or demise!

This is just one facet of exploration in the game, as there are still even more gameplay mechanics around exploration and discovery to be revealed in future devlogs!

Major update31 Aug 2026Summer Content Patch 2: New Career, Federation Capital & Mobile CitadelsHello SectorLords! I am very pleased to release Summer Content Patch 2! Because there is just so much content and new/reworked mechanics in this release, there is a very good chance of some bugs in this release, though hopefully not game-breaking and can be quickly hotfixed! I would recommend that you start a new game if your game was started before Content Patch 1, so you don't miss out on the…Major update13 Aug 2026Summer Content Patch 1!Hello SectorLords, Because there's just so much that needs to be done this month, I am splitting the content patch into two parts, with the second part being released at the end of the month. A new game will not be required for the patch at the end of the month, but is highly recommended for this patch otherwise you won't get to experience any of the new content! What's in this release: NPC Cor…Community11 Aug 2026Indepth Walkthrough VideoHey SectorLords! If the tutorial scenarios weren't enough for you to get a handle on the mechanics, or, if you're like me and just like skipping tutorial missions and going straight into the main game, well a nice YouTuber/Twitch streamer, Tacaro, has made a really indepth video explaining the various commands, systems and gameplay in the Early Access Release. If you find the content helpful, d…
