We're back with another post to delve into some key details and features coming in our major free content update this quarter!
We're excited to announce that both major updates will be launching on May 5th (10 am PT) simultaneously across all platforms! Players can jump into Dungeon Crawl Gauntlet with a swath of new goodies, such as the Treasure Hunter, new cosmetics, weapons, and much more, all for free!
Players can also augment their experience with the paid Into The Wild Character Pack that'll bring two new characters and plenty more to help in your fight against the forces of Chaos!
We're also streaming some of the newly revamped mode over on our Twitch stream later today (12 pm PT/7 pm UTC), so be sure to head on over and follow so you don't miss out on our going live notification.

Remnants of the cultists' misdeeds still plague Fahrul. It is up to you to silence the hostile murmurs of the remaining Chaos Generators concealed within deep caves, creepy crypts, and deadly dungeons.
Brace yourself for adventure, exploration, and to face off with the cult's formidable champions!
Dungeon Crawl Gauntlet throws the Resistance back into the depths of chaos once more! Presenting players with a more roguelite-focused mode, tasking the party with a randomly generated map that has five simple objectives: Enter into the five dungeons found throughout the random selection of biomes and destroy the champion and Chaos Generator that awaits at the end of each dungeon delve.
With a selection of bosses and dungeons in the pool, each run will differ based on the list of objectives assigned to the party.
This mode features little narrative, focusing on providing a replayable roguelite experience that sidesteps the campaign formula present in the seven existing chapters.
Each new session of Dungeon Crawl will place your party on an entirely new overworld, where your dungeons, biomes, map generation, and more will be randomized each fresh run.
However, with the new Gauntlet mode added in For The King II, players will also have the opportunity to compete on a monthly seeded map for a spot among the legendary Stone Heroes honoured throughout Fahrul.
The Dungeon Crawl Gauntlet update launches for free for all players, simultaneously across all platforms next month (May 5th) and includes the new mode inspired by the original For The King, the returning playable Treasure Hunter, plus! The much-requested ‘Forest Mystic/Cat Skin Cosmetic’, new weapons, new enemies, bosses, Trait, and more!
We’ll also be launching the paid Into The Wild Character Pack alongside Dungeon Crawl Gauntlet, which will feature both the Beekeeper and Angler, as well as a range of other goodies to help you in your fight against the forces of Chaos.

Dungeon Crawl Gauntlet brings entirely new dungeon biomes to explore and bosses to defeat! You'll find a range of favourites from throughout the For The King II universe, plus some new fiends and dungeon delves to test your mettle against, such as the new Monarch of the Wild Hive, Queen Beetrix.
Dungeon Crawl Gauntlet features the eponymous Gauntlet mode, a monthly seeded map that lets players compete for the top score and a shot at being honoured with a Stone Hero statue to be displayed across the plains of Fahrul.
However, for those not interested in competing with their fellow adventurers, Dungeon Crawl retains the three difficulty options found across For The King II, as well as the accompanying difficulty sliders, allowing players to experience this more rogue-lite focused mode tailored to the challenge they’d like to square up against.
There’s still plenty of trouble to be found! But custom difficulty sliders enable players to modify their gameplay to fit their needs; whether that’s making things a touch easier so that your group of adventurers can have a chill session gallivanting across Fahrul—or simply tweaking a few settings to fit your style of adventure better.
Dungeon Crawl Gauntlet runs will need to be finished (whether your heroes leave alive—or not) before the monthly seed refresh to count toward the Leaderboard, so be sure to wrap up your escapades across Fahrul before the month's end!
With Dungeon Crawl Gauntlet more focused on providing a replayable free-form adventure, we also wanted to expand the level cap available in this mode.
In the base game of For The King II, we cap our Adventurers at level 9; however, in Dungeon Crawl, players will be able to increase their character level all the way up to level 12!
This enables players to get the most out of their time in this mode, and allows players who love to power up before taking on their foes to capitalize on their build.
This level cap also enables enemies to grow stronger as well, so fear not! Even when you’re at your A game, the forces of Chaos won’t be too far behind.
The Treasure Hunter returns to the fervent fields of Fahrul once again! Their penchant for troves of loot and hoards of wealth has led them back onto the path of Chaos and under the wing of The Resistance’s lofty goals for peace across the realm.
Boasting a toolkit designed to make your party all the richer, the Treasure Hunter specializes in finding more loot by finding lost treasure chests on the overworld, while also ensuring none of those tricky Mimics get the jump on your roving pack of Adventurers.
With their trusty whip, the Rustler, at their side, the Treasure Hunter brings high Awareness, Vitality, and Talent to the battlefield—and for those who love their ranged weapons, fear not! The Treasure Hunter will be launching alongside a range of Blunderbuss/Shotguns that fit nicely into their stat specialization!
The Treasure Hunter joins the fray for free alongside the Dungeon Crawl Gauntlet update, and the paid Into The Wild Character Pack simultaneously across all platforms on May 5th!
We are excited to announce that For The King II is now Verified on Steam Deck!
Just in time to get in and prepare for all the new content that's dropping soon!
An essential part of every Adventurer's toolkit, the Steam Deck allows you to take For The King II on the go. With Verified status for For The King II, it's the perfect opportunity to explore For The King II's seven campaign chapters and infinite dungeon mode, Dark Carnival, while travelling by Landboat, resting at your local tavern, or simply while rotting inside one of Rosomon's many decrepit jail cells!
Our next paid Character Pack, Into The Wild will be launching simultaneously alongside the Dungeon Crawl Gauntlet update!
