From the very start, we set out to create an experience where players truly live the sci-fi nightmare.Presence is everything in VR horror. That's why we built a full-body avatar from the ground up. We wanted you to experience the terrifying reality of body horror firsthand. Forget floating hands - in Star Trek: Infection, you see your entire body, and as the nightmare unfolds, you watch your own form physically change and mutate. Look down, and your legs are there. Lean into a dark corner, and your body realistically responds. This level of physiological connection isn't a small detail - it has a huge impact on presence and immersion. To further preserve the illusion, we adopted a strict no-GUI approach. There are no artificial health bars or floating awareness icons to pull you out of the experience. Everything is woven directly into the world. When an enemy senses you, you won't see an alert symbol above their head - instead, you'll see their veins physically change color and pulsate.

To ensure absolutely nothing breaks the tension, we also eliminated loading screens. The U.S.S. Lumen is a single, seamless environment, allowing you to move between rooms smoothly and naturally. This solution keeps you fully immersed and lets you truly lose yourself in the world.Layering this immersion are the iconic elements of Star Trek: the tricorder, authentic control panels, signature animations, and familiar interactions. All of this is wrapped in a visual presentation that aims to be among the best-looking games on the platform. It's these deliberate details that define Star Trek: Infection as a game built with true VR fans and Star Trek fans in mind.
