Dear players,
firstly I would like to thank everyone who played or tried to play the game before and during the SNF.
Current Demo version had been put together hastily and it is not overall in a good shape. To be perfectly honest neither is the full version. The reason for that is that I am a solo indie developer working small hours on the game due to my family obligations and 2 jobs. On top of that this is my first game and I have a mountain to learn with little to no time for learning it.
As a passion project I did not expect almost anyone to play it and it took me for a surprise. The scope of the game was always supposed to be small so that is what you can expect from this game - a few hours to kill. That plan will only change in an unlikely event of a community push and maybe I do expand the project in that case.
STATE OF THE GAME
Surprisingly I did get some inputs and questions from some of you that I will try to answer here:
1. I am aware of the buggy state some of you experienced during this tryout - It is due to poor optimization and it is being worked on. The game puts some load on GPU and those that play with lower end graphics cards might experience this bug. Hopefully I will be able to fix it in the future.
2. There is no health bar - This game tries to avoid classical game of attrition where you hit and make damage until a unit dies. There is a dice representation at the top left corner indicating the number rolled by a unit when attacking and when you hover over a unit you can see the "roll table" representing what roll will have what effect.
3. There is a tutorial - not very clearly done by my part, but if you press "esc" you can see the menu and choose to look at tutorial for instructions.
4. Rally - for the lack of a better word to explain it is a heal. You can use it to remove the status effects on your units.
5. Mortar shell - can be used every 2 rounds due to a cooldown.
PRICING
This game will be free to play with no in-game store. If you want to contribute you can give me feedback and share the game.
FUTURE PLANS
There are more issues - I am aware of them and trying to fix them, so this is the rundown of some of the things to expect.
Patch notes (future):
1. Better tutorial - implementing a better in game tutorial as is desperately needed.
2. Game optimization - optimizing a game for lower end PC
3. New UI - polishing the UI so it becomes more intuitive (like the options to speed up gameplay and hide mission info).
4. Turn - Turns will now display correct number changing only on players turn with sound signal for the player.
5. Enemy camera - On enemy turn camera will now follow the enemy for better clairvoyance (will be able to turn it off).
6. Missions - there will be 20 basic missions and 20 challenge missions.
Thank you!
