I've gotten word!

It's been told to me from the highest mountains and the deepest seas! There is an error! And I think I fixed it!
While I was at it, i've attempted to make the click & drag physics more stable so your ore can stop exploding out of your buckets. Here's hoping, thanks for all the reports gamers!

Changes

  • Click & Drag should be more stable / less jittery now
  • Clicking objects will now prioritize the closest object to the cursor
  • The hotter the object, the faster you will let go
  • Minor tutorial adjustments

Fixes

  • Fixed the error everyone got upon starting/loading a game
  • Fixed a tutorial-related error that could occur between loads
  • Reduced the size of the background sprites in a feeble attempt to reduce lag when zoomed out

I completely re-wrote the code that handles grabbing and moving objects, so there are likely to be bugs. Please let me know if you encounter any, but I hope it works better than ever! Happy smithing!

Without further ado, here's what's in the ne…Community25 Oct 20251 Year Anniversary RoadmapHello everyone! Today marks the 1 year anniversary of Alnico hitting early access!! Woo! I was hoping to have a fun update ready to release for today, but as usual between work and everything else, I have not been able to wrap things up like I wanted. As compensation, I hope you'll be satiated with this post where I'll go over everything that's currently planned for future updates! Big spoilers…Alnico SmitheryGame update27 Jul 2025Performance DebuggerI know many players have been experiencing inexplicable lag, slowdown, performance issues, etc while playing Alnico. Despite my best efforts, the issue has persisted since the game released. In an attempt to weed out the issue, I have made a debugging tool that you can run in your game to help try and determine what is causing the lag. Accessing the Debug Branch In order to access the debugger,…
