Greetings, smiths! Pinapl here with the first real update since Early Access released!

First of all, I want to thank everyone for your patience while I recovered from covid, and for all the wonderful feedback I've received. I've been doing my best to read all the discussions, reports, and reviews, and it's been incredible to see how many people are enjoying the game. Thank you so much everyone!!! <3 <3 <3

With this update, a majority of the focus was on fixing or improving the existing content based on the feedback I've been getting. There's still plenty of little bugs to fix and changes to make, but this update will cover some of the most pressing complaints I've seen. Without further ado, let's go over what's new!

Additions

  • You can now re-summon the Merchant any time by paying the Crow!
  • New tools, including a Bucket, Extra Crucibles, and a Big Crucible are purchasable from the Merchant.
  • New crafting minigame sprites for 28/40 Crafts!
  • New crafting minigame target layouts for all 40 crafts + rebalanced difficulty levels.
  • New Twitch commands for chatters, including !float, !chase, !grab, and !help.

Changes

  • You can now press "TAB" to open the Smithery Journal.
  • Tongs now center on the mouse cursor.
  • Tongs now grab ingots before the molds they are placed in.
  • Metal will now never melt while being held by the Tongs.
  • Magnet strength has been increased slightly.
  • Coins will now spawn above your Piggy if you have one.
  • Bug Jars are now less prone to spinning wildly.
  • Order Scrolls will now spawn further to the left.
  • Scales now display carbon content.
  • Halloween rope and cobwebs have been removed for the season :(

Fixes

  • Transmutation has been fixed.
  • Buying/Selling stats are now tracked properly.
  • Tier 3 Refinery once again properly displays how much unprocessed stone is inside it.
  • Terrarium residents are more consistent with their un-captured counterparts.
  • The Piggy King achievement is now achieveable with the placeholder craft.
  • Extra refinery switches should no longer spawn when upgrading.
  • Burnt Potatoes can no longer turn into Perfectly Cooked Potatoes.
  • Certain Items are now properly saved between games.
  • Molten metal should be less prone to eratic temperature differences while inside the crucible.
  • Pinned scrolls no longer open if an object is released in front of them.
  • Fixed a rare crash caused by the Merchant trying to give you an order for an alloy that doesn't exist.
  • Chatlings can now burn if exposed to molten metal outside the furnace.
  • Chatlings can no longer crash the game by screaming.

Plus plenty of minor fixes and changes not worth noting here. I hope everyone has fun with the new items and content, I'll keep working hard at adding new content and polishing existing stuff. Thank you everyone who has been reporting bugs and suggestions, I read them all and it helps me a ton when working on the game. Keep it up, and I'll see you all in the next update!

-Pinapl

PS. There is currently a name suggestion thread in the discord for what to name the Crow, so consider joining so you can help decide what its name will be!

PPS. Localization is coming! I am currently working on organizing all the text that needs translating, and when it's ready there will be a public spreadsheet for anyone to join and help the translation effort. I will post an update when it's ready!

In-game event23 Dec 2025Beta 3.40 : RebalancedHappy Holidays, everyone! Old St. Pinapl is here with a new update for you all. The focus this time has been re-balancing, tweaking, and wrapping up some unfinished business. Rather than make you wait even longer for another big update, I decided it might be better to release this smaller update so you don't have to wait as long to get something new. Without further ado, here's what's in the ne…Community25 Oct 20251 Year Anniversary RoadmapHello everyone! Today marks the 1 year anniversary of Alnico hitting early access!! Woo! I was hoping to have a fun update ready to release for today, but as usual between work and everything else, I have not been able to wrap things up like I wanted. As compensation, I hope you'll be satiated with this post where I'll go over everything that's currently planned for future updates! Big spoilers…Alnico SmitheryGame update27 Jul 2025Performance DebuggerI know many players have been experiencing inexplicable lag, slowdown, performance issues, etc while playing Alnico. Despite my best efforts, the issue has persisted since the game released. In an attempt to weed out the issue, I have made a debugging tool that you can run in your game to help try and determine what is causing the lag. Accessing the Debug Branch In order to access the debugger,…
