We’re releasing a special game today.
This game is called Black & White Lite, a remixed story mode of Black & White.
Black & White is our second game. We had no experience and released it during last year’s Steam Spring Sale, leading to a low visibility. To make it worse, the poor-quality battle mode and the to-be-continued ending led to an unsuccessful release. We had a lesson from all of these things.
However, some players expressed their preference for the story of Black & White and thought it was better than that of Lay a Beauty to Rest: The Darkness Peach Blossom Spring. According to their comments, the stories of some characters in Black & White are quite impressive, including Margaret, Annie, Piper, and Herr.
After the release of The Hungry Lamb: Traveling in the Late Ming Dynasty, we got a lot of attention and Lay a Beauty to Rest: The Darkness Peach Blossom Spring got thousands of extra sales, but Black & White didn’t share the same luck.
Feedback comes from some players that they’re not interested in the battle mode and that they hope to experience the story only. For this reason, we decide to release Black & White Lite with a 20% discount during the launch week.
To make Black & White Lite, we completely removed the battle mode of Black & White and rearranged the storyline in a more reasonable way so that the main story and the side story could be linked naturally.
We improved some effects in the game as well, making it become a pure visual novel at last.

Black & White, the original game with a battle mode, was a brave try of our studio. Although it’s been proved to be a kind of failure, we still have some confidence in the visual, the sound, the story, and the world setting. So we present Black & White Lite after one year, hoping you can enjoy it and send feedback to us.
NOTICE: The owners of Black & White do not need to buy Black & White Lite, because the pure story mode will be added to Black & White shortly after Black & White Lite is released. Black & White Lite only appeals to people who do not own Black & White and want to experience the story only.
