The Guns & Dragons playtest has officially wrapped, and we want to start with the only thing that really matters: thank you
Over 100,000 of you signed up, jumped in, died to things you probably didn't expect to die to, and came back to do it again. The bug reports, the balance complaints, the build screenshots, the "why is this weapon like this" threads — we read all of it. Every single piece of feedback has gone straight into our notes for what comes next.
And some of these results completely blew us away.
You collectively poured 46,000 hours into hunting the Ogre Boss. The highest difficulty anyone cleared was 50. Most of you took him down in about 2.89 attempts — but one of you needed 31 retries, and we genuinely respect the commitment.
Then there's the cause of death breakdown, which is where things got funny. The Ogre Chief's club slam accounted for 30% of deaths, which is exactly what you'd expect from a giant ogre with a giant club.
But he wasn't number one.
The Goblin Elite Shaman was. That one spell alone took out 35% of you. Add in the basic Goblin Shaman at 7%, and the shamans are collectively responsible for more player deaths than the actual boss of the fight. We're not saying we planned it that way. We're also not saying we didn't.
Weapon usage told its own story too — Magnum HG dominated Tier 2, Bullet Drill AR took Tier 3, Amber Horn SMG led Tier 4, and Judgment Ray AR was the clear Tier 5 favorite.
And the playtest went genuinely global. The US, Japan, China, Germany, and the UK led the way in player share, with players joining from all over the world.
Which stat surprised you the most? Drop a comment and let us know — and be honest, did that Goblin Elite Shaman get you too?
We're taking everything we learned here into the next phase of development. If you haven't already, wishlist Guns & Dragons so you don't miss what's coming.
Thanks again for playing with us.
See you in the next one.
