Hey Ranchers!
I’ve been digging deep into farming this month, and I’m excited to share updates on the farming skill in Vampire Rancher.
Players can grow various crops, like carrots, cabbage, and onions, and harvest them for resources for crafting and food recipes! In Vampire Rancher, recipes are essential to determine the travellers visiting your town.
Like any good farm, you’ll have to water your crops for them to grow. You can also supplement these crops with compost and fertilizers that you craft for healthier growth and a more significant yield. Apart from tiling farmland on the ground, you can also plant crops in allotment plots for a more aesthetic look.
So what’s next? I’m experimenting with mechanics such as Overgrown and Disease that you’ll have to address if one of your crops falls ill or won’t grow until they are treated. These events have a low chance of happening, and you’ll be able to use fertilizers, potions, or even your vampiric abilities might help navigate some of these challenges.
If you come across rocks, trunks, or other debris you find on the ground, give it a good dig! You’ll find various treasures, including seeds, cooking ingredients, and even ores.
When your vampire powers get strong enough, you’ll even be able to farm garlic. Humans love garlic in their recipes (more to come on in a later update!).
