After playing the game more myself, listening to reviewers, and everyone in the comments section, I felt the current exorcism was way too hard and was extremely unforgiving, it felt more tedious than fun, especially if you felt like you did everything correctly, just to get laughed at and eaten.
The new exorcism mechanic was actually recommended in the comment section of one of Insyms videos by someone that goes by the name Apex, their original idea was to make it percentage-based, meaning if you get 4/5 clues completed, you have an 80% chance of successfully completing the exorcism, rather than a 0% chance.
I've worked this idea into the game, while also factoring in the ghost selection step, selecting the correct ghost currently makes up for 40% of your success chance, meaning if you figure out the ghost, but don't try and get any clues and just start an exorcism, you have a 40% chance to be successful. This chance can and probably will be changed in the future through more testing, and with different difficulty levels, but that's the number I felt comfortable settling on currently.
The steps or "clues" make up an additional 60% of the success chance, so if you have to find only 1 clue, that 1 clue makes up 60% of your success chance, but if you have to find 6 clues, they're all 10% each, adding up to 60%.
I'm really happy with how this feels, but as I said, the numbers aren't currently set in stone, and I'm more than happy to revise them in the future after more feedback and testing.
As you all probably know, the current Effigy model was very much a placeholder, and none of us were really happy with it, it was more comical than scary which certainly isn't what we want. It also didn't feel like it fit with the Effigy, as he's meant to be the ghost of a man that died in a house fire at the house previously. I feel this model fits that significantly better, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you all think of it!

Thank you to everyone that's been testing the game and providing great feedback! If you're interested in the game, please give it a wishlist as it helps me out dramatically, or if you'd like to be part of the process and get your own ideas into the game, consider joining the official Discord server!
