In the last couple of weeks, FlashBoss has made a number of big
structural improvements that open the way to new, more accurate Piper
voices — such as the new Esperanto and Toki Pona pronunciation — along
with a host of other improvements and bug fixes. Thank you for your
patience through the busy update schedule.
For English users, the biggest gains are the massively improved audio
playback functions, together with stability fixes throughout the
program.
On voices: the Northern English Male voice project has
regrettably been dropped — isolated short words never reached the standard
we hold a voice to. In its place comes a new British selection:
Southern England (Female) — warm, clear and confident, with
neutral, exemplary pronunciation. She is fully built and verified
and simply waiting on store page approval.
The Summer and Autumn will continue to see new content rolling out.
And with the structural work now done, the disruptions and large
downloads that came with the recent builds should slow considerably.
