Playto: Learn Languages Through Games · published · build 24706370

Second update in our series on how the overlay looks and behaves while you play. This one focuses on list-style screens — inventories, item lists, settings menus — where several rows share the same name.
When translating from English or other alphabet-based languages into Japanese, Chinese or Korean, the overlay text used to look noticeably larger than the original. The default size now visually matches the original text, and your font size setting still applies on top of it as before. Also fixed a case where a short translation could fold into a one-character-per-line column at smaller sizes.
The quick translate button now offers two output positions: Near text and Bottom. The Custom drag-anywhere position introduced last time remains available for regular sessions.
The First Steps checklist on Home has a new step for setting up keyboard shortcuts, so you can start and stop translation without leaving your game. If you had already finished the checklist, it comes back once with just the new step — one tap and it's gone again.
Playto Cloud is currently unavailable in some regions due to restrictions of the underlying AI service. Until now this failed silently; the app now tells you clearly and switches to local translation on its own. We are also looking into whether there is something we can offer for unsupported regions.
The Cloud tab now carries a few usage notes — for example, continuous full-screen capture uses credits faster, so pausing while you are not playing helps — and a one-tap question about whether Cloud is useful to you. Your answer helps us decide where to take it, including a possible VLM mode we are considering.
The next items on our list are smarter grouping of multi-line text and label clusters. If something else bothers you more, tell us via Contact us in the app, Discord, or this Steam thread — reports like these decided most of what shipped today.
