Major Update – Dynamic Audio, Adaptive Hints & Demo Finale Rework

Project Enceladus Demo · published

🔧 Bug Fixes

  • Fixed several bugs affecting sound feedback, footstep audio, and interaction reliability

  • Resolved issues with drone spawning and interaction edge cases

  • Fixed a rare issue where music or ambient sound could fail to trigger correctly on checkpoint load

💬 Dialogue & Story

  • Added a large amount of new dialogue throughout the demo

  • Completely reworked the ending of the demo for a stronger, more satisfying conclusion

  • Polished existing dialogue for better pacing and clarity

🎵 New Feature – Dynamic Music System

  • The score no longer just loops — it now shifts organically between calm, curious, tense, and intense states depending on what's happening around you

  • Smooth musical transitions connect these shifts instead of hard cuts

  • Occasional musical "stingers" punctuate key moments

🌌 New Feature – Living Station Ambience

  • The station now breathes with you: distant groans, hisses, and unsettling sounds occur naturally as you explore, growing more frequent the more unsettling your surroundings become

  • Impact and footstep sounds now respond more naturally to different surface materials (metal, glass, fabric, and more)

  • Room acoustics now reflect the space you're in — corridors and large chambers sound distinctly different

🧭 New Feature – Adaptive Hint System

  • If you're stuck on a puzzle for a while, Darren will offer a spoken hint to nudge you in the right direction

  • Hints escalate gradually — the longer you're stuck, the more direct they become

  • The system recognizes when you're actively experimenting versus truly stuck, so it won't interrupt you unnecessarily

📖 Level Updates

  • Various environmental and puzzle refinements throughout Chapter I for a smoother experience
