Kaironia Demo Update 0.1.1: Multiplayer & Onboarding Improvements

Kaironia Demo · published · build 24909957

Our first post-release demo update is now live!

Version 0.1.1 makes public multiplayer easier to host and more reliable, adds clearer early-game guidance and Silver smelting, and includes a round of combat, interface, and world polish.

ADDED

- Onboarding: Tutorial quest guidance now uses a pulsing outline for recommended characters and resources, highlights crafting recipes and inventory items, and keeps focused recipes in view.

- Smithing: Silver Ore can now be smelted into Silver Ingots at a Furnace.

CHANGED

- Onboarding: Petra now grants 20 minutes of Banked Time when the first assessment begins, explains one-to-one offline accrual, and highlights the Chronoshift controls during the first Copper step.

BALANCE

- Economy: Silver Ore, Silver Ingots, urns, and silver-crafted accessories now use values balanced around renewable Silver smelting.

FIXED

- Combat: Defeated monsters now return attackable after off-screen respawns, including around player deaths, multiplayer sessions, and Ruby Ring recoil kills.

- Gravestones: Gravestones once again display their owner's name.

- Multiplayer: Public multiplayer now prefers Steam Relay, allowing direct hosts and dedicated servers to accept connections through NAT and CGNAT without manual port forwarding. Direct UDP remains available with clearer UPnP fallback diagnostics.

- Multiplayer: Public Steam-hosted sessions can once again register with the Public Directory after the transport upgrade.

- Multiplayer: Listen hosts can once again send public chat messages to connected players.

- Multiplayer: New travelers created while hosting multiplayer now proceed to server setup instead of starting a single-player game.

- Multiplayer: Players joining direct-hosted games can once again use trees, forageables, doors, and other world interactables without disrupting the host's UI.

- Multiplayer: Remote players can light Bonfires and place temporary items without incorrect position-desync rejections while their actions complete.

- UI: Recipe hovers no longer obscure their text, skill guides reopen at the remembered position, and revisiting the Codex or Quest Journal is smoother.

- UI: Title cards now preserve their full artwork and correct proportions across reward, profile, and frame previews.

- World rendering: Chunk borders no longer reveal thin dirt-colored seams in fractionally scaled windowed play.
