~Arcade Update
------------------------------
-added custom config for Steam Input
-fixed issue with switching control modes
-updated controller/keyboard indicators to reflect current control mode
-fixed a bug that disabled movement when switching from specific controllers to mouse & keyboard
As before Maku supports most controllers natively. Now it should automatically switch between native support and Steam Input. My recommendation is to disable Steam Input and use your controller natively, but the feature is there if needed.
There will be a short transition from .91a to .91b as the new config is tested.
note: the Steam Input config is in a testing state and further configuration may conflict with defaults
note: if you are on the latest build and using a custom Steam Input configuration, it would be a major help to report any issues/suggestions to the community board:
Community Hub
if you are using a Steam Deck and would like to submit feedback, please use the community board or the Maku Discord.
Discord
further:
unrelated to the controller fixes; there is a known bug when changing characters initially and returning to main menu to keep "locked shadow characters", this is being worked on.
updating in v0.91b:
-pause flickering from holding down the pause button, leftover from previous input configuration, simple fix
-known bug: tabbing out during level up and resuming with controller has an issue with the time state that requires brief use of mouse and keyboard, updating controller handling separate from game time state
-any new test features that will be ready in time for these changes
------------------------------
Plans for the end of Arcade Update are to finish control issues and a fix a few known bugs (shadow characters) before adding the last two levels and feature completion of the update. After which I will begin working on the next major update pushes that I have held off on integrating until Arcade has been completed. There will be an update preview post and following alpha build after v1.0.
The Maku OST Vol.1 is released outside Steam. Waiting on verification of the OST vol.1 which will be released next update, cover art had to be reworked. This may be downloaded by any owner of Maku in .wav and .mp3 formats. Vol.1 covers Maku and a bonus disc for "Idle Maku" and Vol.2 will feature all tracks released for the update following the long-spanning "Arcade Update". Watch for the update preview post here.
Thanks for playing!
