The world’s 19 cities have been reorganized into nine historically aligned regions: England, Scotland, Germany, the Teutonic Order, the Archbishopric of Riga, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Flanders.
Each region now uses matching personal, vessel, and captain names. Germany remains Germany under Karl IV.
Existing saves migrate automatically to the new regional structure.
Novgorod, Groningen, and Reval have been removed from the regional structure. Legacy references safely redirect to Riga or Bremen.
Fixes
Player builds now preserve each city’s authored water elevation. Rostock remains at its authored level 10, while unfinished cities retain their current authored levels.
Quit Game now hides the game window immediately and closes Steam services before Unity shutdown, preventing the frozen-looking delay.
The Steam version now opens directly at the full desktop-sized resolution instead of briefly appearing as a 1024x768 window.
Town Hall and other building panels now open and close more reliably, suspend camera movement while open, and use corrected navigation references and interaction areas.
Fixed the ship dossier tab and route-content alignment.
Hemp Farms no longer add an unintended extra sunlight source.
Performance and Stability
Reduced repeated runtime searches, UI rebuilding, and temporary allocations across the world map, city simulation, trading, save loading, building panels, ship systems, and authored city content.
Improved high-speed simulation batching and event-driven UI refreshes.
Moved more deterministic UI and city content into authored build assets, reducing runtime setup work and improving player-build consistency.
