This is a major update bringing the fascinating realm of true 3d-fractals to you, as a free update! Rather than creating a separate app, I have integrated it into swan as new module, which is called MandelBro3D.
There are many features which work the same for flames and 3d-fractals (like the motion-curves-editor or audio-support), and MandelBro3D also uses the same proven render-pipeline as the flame-renderer. And, you now have a really powerful fractal toolbox for generating both endless worlds of flame fractals and 3d-fractals, both with full GPU support and awesome render results.
You will probably also see some features you did not see in other fractal apps before, like bridging between flame-fractals and 3d-fractals by applying flame-variations to 3d-fractals and primitives or 3d-mesh-import and more.
In general, there are really tons of features, making the app both very powerful nd very complex. So, I expect bugs for this initial release. When you encounter a bug, please report it using the official bug-tracker (see the help section in the app).
Also, it is recommended to watch the introduction video (see also the help section in the app, it is the last video in the list).
For more information see the users manual (which can be also found in the help section of the app, it is the first link in the list.)
Happy rendering!
Short description of MandelBro3D
MandelBro3D is a full-featured 3D fractal renderer with GPU path tracing, lots of fractal formulas, procedural primitives, flexible scene composition through CSG operations and space deformations, physically-based materials and lighting, custom user-authored formulas in GLSL, and animation support with motion curves and motion-blur, point-cloud-export and mesh-import and much more.
