Patch v0.5.0 Deathmatch Mode Added + Balance and bug fixes

POOP DECK Playtest · published

New
- Deathmatch mode + Twin Forts. A full 6v6 team Deathmatch mode on a brand-new symmetric two-fort map. Pick a team in the lobby, fight out of a closed 1,100-gold loadout (no trading, loot, or bounty income — just your starting purse and full-price sell-back), and rack up kills against the enemy team, their fort batteries, and 12 roaming NPC ships. First team to 50 kills wins.
- Sail upgrades. A new 2-level sail speed upgrade is available at large ports — +10% max speed per level.

Changes & Balance
- Docks reworked. The old single Docks screen is now two hubs: Upgrades & Repair and Shipyard, each with a live 3D preview of the hull you're looking at, stat breakdowns, and per-hull strengths/weaknesses at a glance. Buying now takes a deliberate two-step select-then-confirm, so you can't accidentally spend gold with one press.
- Longer cannon range. All cannons reach 10% further (60 → 66). Stern chasers reach further still, giving a losing ship a real chance to break off a chase.
- Slower price recovery. Market prices take longer to snap back and swing further before they do — running the same trade route back-to-back won't refill it as fast as before.

Fixes
- NPCs under attack no longer vanish mid-fight. A live enemy ship being shot at could occasionally disappear outright instead of sinking properly; that's closed.
