Hello, Gremlin Keepers!
A major new update has arrived for Desktop Gremlins! It introduces a brand-new character, a redesigned Workshop library, live needs indicators, improved app interactions, and even more beautiful ways for your gremlin to cause chaos on your desktop.
A new evolution is now available!
Reach 5,000 XP to unlock Cat Girl, a mischievous new companion with her own animations for walking, jumping, eating, sleeping, listening to music, reacting to interactions, and causing trouble.
Steam Workshop has returned to the main menu and now has its own dedicated screen.
You can now:
If an item contains a preview.png file, its image will appear directly inside the Workshop library.
The needs displayed in the menu are now connected directly to your gremlin’s actual condition.
Hunger, happiness, energy, food supply, XP, and the food regeneration timer now update continuously while the menu is open.
The “Grab!” action has been moved to the Chaos Lab and can now only be used while Chaos Mode is enabled.
Several existing effects have also been improved, including screen freezing, fake cracks, thrown objects, runaway windows, and interactions with other application windows.
New visual chaos events include:
The Chaos Lab now contains more than 30 different effects that can be tested manually.
Desktop Gremlins can now recognize YouTube Music through Pear Desktop.
When the application is detected, your gremlin can start its music animation, display a special reaction, and count the interaction toward the music-related achievement.
