# 🏆 Tournament Mode — Early Access Update v0.1.05

Tournament mode is live for testing! This is a big one — single-table Sit & Go tournaments, a brand-new end-of-game results screen, post-tournament Play Again voting, a fresh match-start ready-up flow, and a fistful of multiplayer flow fixes that came out of internal playtesting. **All feedback welcome** — this build is going out specifically so you can break it for us.

## New: Tournament Mode

A new **Tournament** option in the lobby's Mode dropdown (host only — Solo stays Casual).

- **Three Length presets** — Quick, Standard, Deep Stack. Each preset sets both the starting stack and how fast the blinds escalate:
- **Quick** — 500 chips, blinds rise every 3 hands
- **Standard** — 1,000 chips, blinds rise every 5 hands *(default)*
- **Deep Stack** — 2,000 chips, blinds rise every 8 hands
- **Up to 8 players** at a table (heads-up minimum). Tournaments are **players-only**
- **Elimination format** — bust your stack and you're out for good (no rebuys). Last player standing wins.
- **In-progress tournaments lock** in the public lobby browser — no late joins to a game already underway.
- **Friend invites mid-tournament** still work, but joiners watch from the rail rather than entering the live tournament.

## Tournament Complete results screen

When a tournament ends, the whole table gets a celebratory results modal:

- **Crowned champion** with confetti + fanfare
- **Final standings** (1st, 2nd, 3rd colour-coded; hero's row highlighted)
- **Four end-of-game badges** with the winner's name and the actual numbers behind them:
- Knockout King — most eliminations
- Chip Leader — highest peak stack
- Most Hands Won — most pots taken
- Biggest Pot — largest single hand

## Play Again — post-tournament rematch voting

When a tournament ends, every player gets 30 seconds to click **Play Again**.

- Click Ready → you're in the rematch with the same length preset and players.
- Don't click → you go back to the lobby when the timer expires.

---

## Quality of life

- **Bot style changes apply on the NEXT hand**, not mid-hand. Changing aggression mid-game used to occasionally freeze the action loop; the change now broadcasts a toast (*"Bot style → Aggressive · next hand"*) on every peer and is applied cleanly at the next hand boundary.
- **In-game bot adds blocked during a tournament** — the Manage Players modal's "Fill Empty Seats", "Add Bot", and "Restore" buttons are greyed out with a tooltip during tournament play.
- **Lobby browser** shows a clear "Tournament" / "Locked" badge for in-progress tournaments.

## Bug fixes

- **3-all-in showdown freeze** when a kicked/removed bot still held cards — fixed. Removing a bot mid-hand now folds their hand cleanly.
- **Tournament-end deal loop** — the table no longer kept dealing phantom hands behind the Tournament Complete modal (which was also resetting the Play Again timer and wiping votes).
- **Vote propagation** — Play Again votes were being silently wiped by the above bug. Both issues fixed together: votes stick, the 30 s timer counts down for real, and the modal's "Ready: N / M" line refreshes when someone drops.
- **Clients getting stuck on the Tournament Complete modal** after the host started a rematch — fixed by clearing the stale state and the session token on the new game's seat-assign.
- **Eliminated players could click "Buy Back In"** — fixed. The buy-back panel and "Sit Back In" button are now permanently hidden in tournament mode (server refuses the RPC defensively too).
- **Bot-aggression mid-hand freeze** (see Quality of life — listed here for emphasis since it was a hard-to-repro one).
