Update v0.4.1 - Stability, Physics & World Optimization

Extinct Forest · published · build 21469081

This update focuses on polishing core mechanics, adjusting the camera, improving performance in the open world, and fixing critical bugs related to the save system.

💾 Save System & Stability

  • Critical Crash Fix: Resolved an issue where the game would crash upon loading a save game due to weapon attachment errors.

  • New Game Initialization: Improved the logic when starting a "New Game" to ensure a clean state (fixed initial camera transitions and variable resets).

  • Persistence: Fixed an issue where dead dinosaurs were not saving/loading correctly. Their state and position are now preserved reliably.

🌍 World & Performance

  • World Streaming: Optimized World Partition settings for smoother level streaming. Large level instances now load more consistently, reducing stutter while exploring.

  • Landscape Interaction: Improved collision detection between physics actors and the landscape.

🏹 Gameplay & Physics

  • Camera Adjustment: Tweaked the player camera height for an improved perspective and better overview.

  • Weapon Physics: Addressed a collision issue where weapons dropped by the player or enemies would fall through the ground. Physics iteration counts have been increased for better stability.

  • Player Movement: Refined player movement for a smoother experience, reducing jitter in complex terrain.

🔊 Audio & Polish

  • Physical Sound: Added and improved sound effects for physical actors (impact sounds when items hit the ground).

  • UI/Interaction: Fixed a runtime error related to interaction indicators (circular UI) persisting after object destruction.
