Planet Killer Demo · published
This demo patch adds a new strafing mechanic, rare enemy interdictions, expanded Warp Jammer encounters, a new final demo battle, more tooltip clarity, improved rank emblem visuals, and several important balance and bug fixes.
This is a smaller update than the last few major patches, but it includes some very important gameplay improvements and should make deep demo runs more varied, more readable, and more exciting.
Added a new strafing mechanic. Ships can now strafe by holding Shift on keyboard or Left Trigger on controller, then using normal movement controls. While strafing, ship rotation is locked and movement speed is reduced.
Added the new Interdiction mechanic. There is now a rare chance for additional enemy ships to warp in, support the planet, and try to destroy you.
Added many new Warp Jammer encounters, including Battleship Blockade, boss encounters, and various new modifiers that change the fleet of ships you will face.
The UI now shows wingman weapons and health after transferring command to a wingman.
Improved PD Missile System AI so it no longer wastes charges.
Added a new ultimate final demo planet battle. If you reach the end of the demo run length limit, you will now face an incredibly difficult final planet encounter.
Added additional detail tooltips explaining planet variants and planet types.
Heavily improved the Player Rank Emblem system with new visuals for higher ranks.
Reduced wingman health scaling from items.
Fixed cursed modules so they should now be more useful in certain situations.
Additional Planetary Defense Ships now have an increased chance to spawn every 5 depths instead of every 10 depths traveled.
Fixed a bug with the Player Rank Emblem system.
Fixed a bug where the PD system could continue firing after the ship was dead.
Fixed Rift and Anomaly alien weapons so they now deal appropriate damage and should be worth using.
Fixed lag and performance issues in the Ship Selection screen.
Fixed a bug where +slot and +wingman passives purchased in shops only granted +1 instead of the displayed amount.
