4.1.8 - Performance Improvements, Bug Fixes, QOL Updates
NON-BUGS
- MASSIVELY improved texture size by improving sprite packing. Should have a significantly lower RAM load, hopefully helping out with load times and mid-game performance.
- The game will now spend less time with the spinning icon before it shows the Kilowatt Games logo - it now does most of that loading while you're navigating the menus.
- Improved world generation speed using Unity's burst compiler. Shaved off about 20 seconds maybe, at least in the test on my machine.
- eased up on human camp generation
- Made rock generation in the overworld more smooth
- Removed ore spawning in the overworld forest biome
- You can now press E or escape to progress dialogue
- Seeds can now be placed directly underfoot
- The AOE for the "skull on a stick" wards now fades in and out to prevent jumpscare
- Disabled the "interact" arrow for the wards since you can only hover and not interact with them
- Loading icon now shows while waiting for the intro cutscene to load.
- Reduced the amount of underground grass
- Added something to the furnace HUD that lets you know how many more of a thing you need before it'll start working
- Made broken hearts in the friendship HUD more clear
BUGS
- Fixed bug where goop covered human would spawn stuck in a barrel in the tavern subassembly
- Fixed a bug with the shadow hood and cloak not displaying properly in the "load character" menu or the armor stands.
- Fixed the giant head on the cloaked figure
- Fixed a bug where armor would still render while invisible
- Fixed bug where "looting all" would cause ammo items to go from the ammo slots to the regular inventory
- Void potions now stack like all the other potions
- Winkle flowers dropped Sunsear seeds. Fixed. Most flowers had this issue
- Fixed a bug where the culling ceremony would be enshrouded in playtest wall clouds
- Fixed an incorrect dialogue Gums had at/on the way to the pub
- Fixed a broken quest where Clang asks you to craft using gold (same with bloodstone and mithril).
