Optimization Rework, Hardware Rename & Quality of Life
Two updates rolled into one. The optimization system has been rebuilt, the terminal got a visual overhaul, and there are several quality of life improvements.
Optimization Rework
- The Focus currency has been removed. Optimization nodes now cost Neural Weights to unlock.
- This is a permanent spend. Buying a node reduces your NW production multiplier. Choose carefully.
- Node costs have been rebalanced for early-game accessibility while keeping the high-end nodes a real commitment.
- The optimization panel explains the new mechanic via a tooltip on the ? button.
- Existing saves: already-unlocked nodes stay unlocked. Old Focus balances are simply ignored.
Hardware Tab (Renamed)
- The "Store" tab is now called "Hardware." Same upgrades, better name.
MAX Buy Preview
- When MAX buy mode is selected, each hardware card now shows how many units you can afford (e.g., "5x 1.68Sx").
- Updates in real-time as your FLOPS change. No more guessing.
Terminal Log Styling
- Terminal messages now have distinct visual categories so you can scan them at a glance.
- Your typed commands appear in bright text. Different message types each have their own color.
In-Game Leaderboard
- A new "Leaderboard" tab sits next to Terminal and Achievements in the left panel.
- Full interactive leaderboard without opening the pause menu.
Visual Feedback & UI Fixes
- Clicking MAIN LOOP or pressing Space now reliably shows floating +FLOPS numbers, screen shake, and glitch overlays.
- Tab buttons (Terminal / Achievements / Leaderboard) scale properly and no longer clip or wrap.
- Fixed an issue where terminal and leaderboard content could both appear visible at the same time.
- Leaderboard panel now fills the full available vertical space.
- Floating numbers are larger, brighter, and no longer suppressed by the "reduce animations" setting.
