Dead Reckoning: The Long Drift · published
Thanks for the flood of reports today — a fast batch of fixes.
Crew counts now show your living colonists. The register and roster were still counting colonists who had died, so your totals read high (e.g. register 1023 vs. a true 998). (bug-1551)
Landfall and First Refusal achievements now unlock on Steam, and any you already earned are granted automatically the next time you launch. (bug-2076)
Fixed a Year-100 softlock. When an information event arrived right after a decision, the game could lock on "Directive Required" with no directive to issue. The same fix covers a probe report arriving after fast-forward. (bug-2077 — thanks rand, avocadotoast2021)
Fixed a softlock where a recurring power or food shortage could starve your ship's arrival at a system and leave it drifting forever. The arrival now resurfaces once the crisis clears. (bug-2078 — thanks Caelum)
Setting course for a probe-scouted world now works — the ship no longer sails past it with no chance to arrive, and turning around no longer hits the same wall. (bug-1556)
The "last founder has died" event no longer fires while founders are still a large part of the colony. (bug-2079 — thanks kikocrespillo2)
Research events no longer cite impossible timeframes (e.g. "twenty years ago" early in the voyage). (thanks Caelum)
Colony ending text no longer ignores your build choices or contradicts itself about who remembers Earth. (thanks 555strat)
The Mars flyby no longer overstates how many colonists are awake to see it.
First-night and other early events no longer repeat a line of text.
Each fix ships with a regression test, and the release gate now hard-fails on any of these classes recurring (including event text that cites an impossible elapsed time).
