You can view the patch notes for all previous versions here!
Added a new Solo mode called “Scarecrow Shakedown”, where you deal as much damage to a dummy as you can in a 15-second time limit while the team’s tag meter constantly refills. See if you can set any high scores!
Added Badges - modifiers that can change character stats. Head into the Collections menu to create some Badge sets, and mess around with them in offline versus matches!
All fighters now have voice lines & facial expressions.
Fighters now have motion trails on a few attacks.
Fighters now glow while charging Neutral Attack, and flash just before their Supercharges activate. A sound effect also plays to indicate attack charging.
Alice also glows while charging her Mad Tea Set.
A new cameo character was added to the background of the Dreamscraper Tower stage to watch your matches. She wants to see… wants to see you fighting…
Bird on a Gilded Road (Dorothy’s Theme) now available as a music track for matches.
Added a combo counter display.
Fixed an issue where “Auto Music” wouldn’t always play the themes of characters in the match.
By releasing the input during your jumpsquat, you can perform a Short Hop, jumping roughly half the height of your normal jump. Certain characters get more tech out of this than others.
Whenever you run, you’ll have a brief initial dash speed. This should give players access to better grounded burst movement.
If you have any full bars of tag meter, pressing Quarter Circle Forward (Down, Down-Forward, Forward) + Attack or Quarter Circle Backward (Down, Down-Back, Back) + Attack will expend a bar of tag meter and immediately perform a Supercharge. This gives you faster access to Supercharge than holding the Attack button, but of course spending your tag meter will lose you access to tag combos & defensive tags temporarily.
If both tag partners’ meters are full, QCF will expend the first partner’s tag meter, while QCB will expend the second partner’s tag meter.
Dorothy will expend both bars of tag meter when activating her Supercharge in this way.
Notably, this method for activating Supercharge works even if your teammates are knocked out, providing another reason to build up tag meter even if you only have one fighter remaining.
Since all the clever stuff to work around Alice’s Croquet Hoop infinite combo didn’t work, it’s just been directly coded out. To compensate, the multi-hit damage of the attack has been restored.
When three Air Attacks are used without landing, the fourth Air Attack will automatically cancel into the Corner Cancel landing hit.
Air Attack Damage (Hits 1, 2, 3): 300 → 600
Total Damage: 2000 → 2900
Similar to Alice, Dorothy also had an infinite cancelling the first hit of Heel Click into itself (though not as many players noticed it). It has also been directly coded out.
When four Air Attacks are used without landing, the fifth Air Attack will have no hitbox for the first hit (forcing you to use the second hit).
While proper spacing is one of the hallmarks of Wendy’s gameplay, her Playing House was a bit too precise to hit, often overshooting opponents even when it seems like you’ve correctly comboed into it (e.g. using Shadow Catch). By letting players drop early, Wendy’s combos should work at more ranges.
During Crouch Attack (frames 20-35), press Attack again to drop early.
Willie also had a near-infinite that players complained about (technically there was 1 frame to block, but of course that’s a hard window to hit if you’re being comboed), thanks to his Xylodontist pulling opponents in at low charge. The properties of Xylodontist have been changed so it’s still useful as a combo tool into Steam Toot, but doesn’t work as an infinite anymore.
Neutral Attack now pushes opponents back at all charge levels (though higher charge levels still push further). This means even uncharged Neutral Attack will send the opponent out of range after a few hits.
Neutral Attack Recovery Frames (low charge): 29 → 15
Updated Marches Monstres (Creature's Theme) to better fit the instrumentals and mixing of the rest of the game’s OST.
In Training (Practice) Mode: by pressing inputs on a second controller on the character select screen, you will be able to control player 2 during the match.
