Day Two Patch Notes – Build 0.738
Today’s update focuses on party behavior, ability usage, exploration, navigation, equipment reliability, and presentation.
Party Movement and Exploration
- Improved party movement around trees, mining nodes, buildings, and other dense scenery.
- Reduced navigation stalls and performance drops in crowded gathering areas.
- Party members are less likely to block one another, spin in place, zigzag across each other’s paths, or repeatedly reverse direction.
- A character who is genuinely trapped behind another party member can now temporarily move through that teammate to escape the blockage.
- Improved formation courtesy so companions make room for the party member actively leading the route.
- Companions now resume travel from their current location instead of returning to an outdated position from before a fight, gathering job, revive, chest, or pickup.
- Idle companions behave more naturally around woodcutting, mining, harvesting, skinning, looting, chests, healing, reviving, resting, and other field activities.
- Improved exploration decisions so parties favor undiscovered territory and are less likely to immediately backtrack over recently explored routes.
- Fixed returning enemies occasionally retaining an invalid target while moving back toward their territory.
- Enemies returning home can now properly re-engage when both they and the party are still inside the encounter’s valid area.
Abilities and Combat AI
- Fixed ability tooltips occasionally displaying information from the wrong ability.
- Improved autonomous ability selection across tanks, healers, melee fighters, ranged fighters, and support characters.
- Characters now compare abilities from both weapon sets before deciding what they can cast.
- Improved Frost Ring usage and movement into a legal casting position.
- Improved group-healing decisions so Circle of Mending and Mender’s Lumen are chosen according to the party’s actual injuries.
- Healers contribute offensive abilities when no healing or care action is currently needed.
- Melee characters may use a ranged opening attack when appropriate, then return to their melee weapon set instead of remaining at range.
- Travel, recovery, and pre-combat buffs can now be used outside combat when doing so is useful.
- Reduced unnecessary weapon-set swapping and repeated movement while trying to use an ability.
- Woven abilities now participate in the same complete ability-selection system as standard abilities.
Inventory, Equipment, and Party Management
- Fixed Party Management occasionally showing outdated information after recruiting or losing a character.
- Fixed Inventory and Town Storage views occasionally remaining stale after an external item or roster change.
- Improved equipment transfers between weapon sets.
- Equipment moves are now completed atomically, preventing an item from disappearing or becoming stranded when a transfer cannot finish.
- Failed equipment actions now restore the exact original item to its original position.
Presentation
- Replaced 13 remaining legacy ability icons with original artwork:
- Backstab
- Cinder Brand
- Draw the Line
- Frost Ring
- Invisibility
- Iron Canticle
- Mass Invisibility
- Pinning Shot
- Rending Blow
- Renewing Chorus
- Sneak
- Sundering Blow
- Suppressing Volley
Stability
- Improved long-session movement stability across all eight expeditions.
- Verified current expedition populations, save/load behavior, equipment persistence, and deterministic continuation.
- Existing Build 0.737 save files remain compatible with Build 0.738.
