v4.2.7
Make sure you UPLOAD your savefile to our cloud! Settings > Account > "Upload Save". It's free, but you can also subscribe for more save slots. I digress, back to the patch notes...
Synergism is now available on the Apple AppStore and the Google PlayStore!
With this, many tabs have received updates for mobile users.
Since the release of PseudoCoins, users in many countries have been unable to purchase them due to restrictions, financial laws regarding international transactions, blah blah blah. That is no longer the case with the introduction of a new payment processor, Xsolla, that is (or soon will be) available, under a "Checkout" button in the PseudoCoins cart tab. Xsolla offers thousands of payment methods (literally), including WePay, AliPay, PayPay, and many more. For the first time, Chinese and Japanese users (our 2nd and 3rd largest demographics of players) will be able to buy PseudoCoins without workarounds. To not piss off our billionaire overlords, this option is not available for Steam users (who shouldn't have trouble regardless), Apple, and Android users.
In lieu of Xsolla being added, we have dropped the NOWPayment payment processor and we have disabled the ability to buy merch. We still plan on doing merch giveaways in the future, join the Discord to enter the giveaways!
A new display was added that shows your PseudoCoin and Lotus counts under every subtab in the PseudoCoins tab! No more going to the Ants tab or Consumables subtab to view your Lotus count or going to the upgrades tab to see your PseudoCoin balance!
Buying PseudoCoins supports us financially so we can continue working on updates!
Code 'Add' Changes
Now for the namesake of the update! "Capacity" for code ‘add’ was previously defined in terms of amount of times you can use the code. We have changed the definition of "Capacity" to be how long you can wait for ‘add’ uses to accumulate. These changes are spread throughout all of the Quark Upgrade "Calculators" and the Singularity Perk "It All Adds Up".
Additive Capacity
Base Value
OLD: 24 Uses
NEW: 1 Day (86,400s)
Rationale: A new player gets 1 code ‘add’ use every 1 hour, so these base values correspond to a new player getting up to 24 uses in a given day. Therefore, the Capacity is left unchanged.
Upgrades
PLAT-X Calculator (Quark Upgrade)
Max Level: 12
OLD: +2 Uses/lv
NEW: +30 Mins/lv (+1,800s)
Rationale: Because the Capacity no longer depends on how quickly you can obtain code ‘add’ uses, the amount of time you can store needs to be less than 1 hour per OLD Capacity increase, otherwise the code becomes much more powerful in the late-endgame, specifically for things that reward stockpiling these attempts (say, Events or EXALT 7). Having it be +1,800s per level still gives players a six hour buffer when maxed, over the base 1 Day limit.
PLAT-δ (Quark Upgrade)
OLD: +32 Uses at max level
NEW: +3 Hours at max level (+10,800s)
Rationale: The Capacity increase for max level is quite high under the old system, giving a bigger bonus than the entirety of PLAT-X. At the same time, it feels wrong to entirely remove the Capacity bonus for max level, since all Calculators are given a bonus effect when maxed.
PLAT-Γ (Quark Upgrade)
Max Level: 100
OLD: +1 Uses / 10 levels, +6 at max level
NEW: +1 Min/lv (+60s), +80 Mins at max level (+4,800)
Rationale: The ‘every 10 level’ bonus felt a little awkward to have on this Calculator, since the traditional pattern is that only the final level gives an extra bonus. So we've distributed the bonus across all the levels, with a slight extra bonus for maxing the Calculator out.
PLAT-_ (Quark Upgrade)
OLD: +24 Uses at max level
NEW: +3 Hours at max level (+10,800s)
PLAT-ΩΩ (Quark Upgrade)
OLD: +48 Uses at max level
NEW: +3 Hours at max level (+10,800s)
Maximum Additive Capacity
OLD: 168 Uses (24 + 24 + 32 + 16 + 24 + 48)
NEW: 1 Day, 18 Hours (151,200s) [86,400 + 21,600 + 10,800 + 10,800 + 10,800 + 10,800]
Multiplicative Capacity Modifiers
“It All Adds Up” (Singularity Perk)
Max Level: 15 at Singularity 240
OLD: 1-4x max uses (+0.2x per level)
NEW: +0 to +6 Hours (+24 Mins/lv [+1,440s/lv])
Rationale: The Capacity used to be multiplied because the code ‘add’ refill interval was divided by the corresponding amount. Now that Capacity is timer-based, it doesn’t really make sense to multiply the Capacity via this perk. The perk gives up to 6 additional hours of Capacity so that the total max Capacity is exactly 2 days (172,800s) before multiplicative modifiers.
The Limited Edition Plat-P Calculator (PseudoCoin Upgrade)
OLD: 1-3x max uses (+1x per level)
NEW: Unchanged
With everything fully maxed, including the PseudoCoin Upgrade, you get a maximum of six days worth of code 'add' storage! This is a radical increase in Capacity over the current limit.
Speaking of code 'add', fixed a bug where sometimes using 'X' attempts will display a message implying you actually used 'X+1' attempts but you gain +1 attempt in 0 seconds.
Reincarnation Challenges no longer give Particles when you're in a Transcension Challenge.
Researches [3x21] to [3x25] now require being in a Reincarnation Challenge to activate. When you are in a Reincarnation Challenge, the number of times you can clear a Transcension Challenge is now equal to how many Challenge completions per tick you have based on Quark Upgrades "Instant Challenge Completions" and "Instant Challenge Completions 2". Previously this was just 1 per tick regardless of upgrades.
Removed extraneous HTML renders on Auto Challenge based on the aforementioned Researches (slight performance improvement FTW!)
Clicking 'Buy All Producers and Masteries' and 'Buy All Upgrades' on mobile will toggle a Modal similar to clicking on the Reset buttons at the top of the screen. You will be informed as to which Upgrades / Masteries / Producers you can buy, and you purchase them by clicking a secondary button at the bottom of the Modal. Previously, clicking these buttons would summon a Modal telling you what you can buy, which is incorrect given that you already bought those things. Yikes, am I right?
Upgrade Tab: "Buy All" at the top of the section now actually buys all upgrades from ALL categories! "Buy All" previously ignored Generation and Automation Upgrades.
Upgrade Tab: "Particles" Upgrade section is no longer visible if you don't have any Research [2x22] to [2x25].
Fixed a bug where numbers between -1e3 and 0 would be displayed as 0 (Steam users did not encounter this bug).
Fixed a bug that would cause the Mobile EXALT modals to replace the old system on desktop. Hovering over the various exalts no longer opens a modal.
Fixed a bug where Instant Challenge would grant multiple completions without retry enabled.
Fixed a bug that would cause stale Roomba highlights in the research UI
Legacy One Mind and QUQUQUQUAAKCKCKKCKKCKK icon backgrounds are darkened so the various backgrounds the game set are visible and consistent across icons.
"Paid witness" -> "borne witness" because English
(credit to rus9384) fixed a variety platter of broken / inconsistent formatting across the game!
Fixed an issue where some instances of numbers less than 1/1000 (or 0.001) were not properly formatted, or otherwise displayed a zero.
Mobile Improvements!
Early game texts have been fitted with an (experimental) line-fit function! Instead of certain texts taking up inconsistent amounts of lines (and thus causing flickering in some cases) they will be dynamically sized so the element heights stay consistent. Note that it is likely we have forgotten some important lines to fit. If you notice flickering / height changes as a result of text updates, let us know where so we can patch it!
The Mobile version defaults to a monospace font. What is a monospace font? Well, it's a font where every character takes up the same amount of space. For Synergism, this means that numbers don't unexpectedly take up more or less space than before, due to frequent visual updates to text that contain numbers. On Web versions of the game, you can choose to use the monospace font as an option in Settings. This option is not available in Mobile due to concerns about height flickering- players on the mobile version must use this new font.
When you scroll through a subtab, and enter a new one (or a new tab entirely), the scroll position for that subtab is now saved! When you go back to the subtab it will be exactly where you left off. Prior to this update, the scrolling would reset on all tab switches.
On the apps, the screen will no longer automatically dim.
On the apps, a bug that would prevent Happy Hour Bells, Time Skips, and Loti from activating or working was fixed.
On the apps, an auto-updater was added. That means you receive updates automatically and faster than everyone else!
An OLED theme has been added for your Lithium Ion battery lovers. 🔋
Quality of Life!
A refresh indicator has been added when logging in or signing up. Likewise, you no longer need to refresh your game after logging in or out, changing language(s), or toggling stat symbols! (Some of them might not apply fully until a refresh... but that's up to you now).
Added "Hide Automated" Buildings! If your building of concern has automation turned on, you can hide it from view. This can allow you to see more unique aspects of each building subtab more easily!
Added "Hide Purchased" Upgrades! In the Upgrades tab, if you have an Upgrade you've already bought, you don't have to see it.
Improved the layout of the toggles in the Settings subtab.
Improved Challenge progress indicators! When you are in any Transcension, Reincarnation or Ascension Challenge (or a combination of those), you can see your number of completions and requirements for next completion near the Reset buttons at the top of the screen.
For Challenge 15, the Score is instead displayed (and the required coins to improve it if relevant).
This enhancement is available on Web ONLY... for the time being.
Added previews to the Achievement Level Rewards and Milestones. Basically, it will show you the next 0-3 icons of each type (depending on how many you've already unlocked), with the title of the Reward or Milestone, and what level it is unlocked. The icons are greyed out for cinematic effects.
This is an old change, but since we haven't updated you changelog viewers in a little but, the tab system has gotten a little bit of a makeover! You can now enter "editing" mode by clicking and holding a tab, which allows you to hide, show, and move tabs around! Thanks to RYGHT1 for the changes!
Over the last few weeks, a number of performance improvements have been added.
In the ambrosia loadout menu, a button to save the last loaded loadout was added, no more needing to change between saving and loading modes!
Implemented a way to quickly modify singular modules in the ambrosia loadout tab. You can now add and decrease levels from individual modules or buy the max level instantly that you can afford.
The current ambrosia loadout slot is now highlighted, so you can easily tell which loadout is currently active.
Hotkeys that are not relevant to mobile users are now hidden on mobile devices.
You can now exit an exalt by pressing the Singularity button!
The subscription cancel button now works independent of the platform you are on. That means that, for example, an Apple user can cancel their Steam subscription from their phone. This was only done on platforms that expose an API that allows us (Synergism) to cancel subscriptions - sorry mobile users!
Purple Ambrosia... it's finally happening!!!
Almost one year after the last endgame expansion (EXALT 9 and the Horse Shoe), a new, unknown (unknowable?) substance has been discovered!
Purple Ambrosia, as you can guess, will be a sort of continuation of the Ambrosia series. You will unlock it the same way you unlocked Horse things... EXALT 9... but maybe you need a little more power to unlock the power of the Purple.
Purple Ambrosia will feature a number of sub-mechanics, making it perhaps more unique than Red Ambrosia. You will need a lot of Ambrosia and Red Ambrosia in your pursuit of Purple.
Here's a couple key words that you might or might not find relevant: Blackberries, Orbitals, Challenges... reworked. The Power Of {{X}} (The Power Within!). ✰𝚫 ℝ 𝐑𝐞(𝒛). Jorkles, Himlies, Scheeloids.
