Update 0.2.208 - July 15, 2026

Wallpaper Animator · published

Mostly fixes this time. The big one, reported by several of you, is the app closing a second after launch on some PCs. If that was you, it should now start normally, and it will tell you how to fix things if it can't.

New

  • Stretch fit mode - a new wallpaper fit option that stretches the video to fill monitors whose shape doesn't match the wallpaper, instead of cropping it.

Improvements

  • When the content filter declines a generation, the app now says that's what happened and whether the attempt counted against your daily allowance.
  • The image content filter declines fewer harmless prompts.

Fixes

  • Fixed the app closing immediately after launch on PCs with a broken or missing Microsoft Edge WebView2 component: the app now installs or repairs the component itself, and shows manual instructions if that fails. (Windows)
  • Generate buttons now unlock the moment your daily allowance refreshes, without restarting the app.
  • A video render that gets stuck no longer eats the animation slot: stuck renders are detected and the slot is refunded.
  • If a generated image fails to arrive, the attempt no longer counts against your daily allowance.
  • Animations that failed to generate no longer linger in your Saved list, and a failed download now shows a message instead of failing silently.
  • Deleting a wallpaper while its animation is still generating now cancels it properly.
  • The wallpaper recovers again after Windows Explorer restarts. (Windows 10)
  • Leftover helper processes no longer stick around after the app closes. (Linux)
  • Various stability and reliability improvements.
