Guilds of Mountgate – Update v0.3.0.4

Greetings Adventurers,

v0.3.0.4 is now live!

This update continues expanding the content available beyond the early progression while also taking another substantial pass at balancing several of the game's core skills.

Beehives & Smallbrook

Smallbrook has received a new set of quests, giving players more reasons to spend time in and around the village.

Farming has also received another new system with the introduction of Beehives, providing a renewable source of resources such as honey and expanding the possibilities of the skill beyond simply growing crops.

We've also started introducing additional asynchronous gameplay elements, allowing the actions of other players to become more noticeable throughout the world without requiring everyone to be online or actively playing together at the same time.

Fishing & Progression Balancing

Fishing has received another significant balancing pass.

Two additional high-level fish have been introduced to extend the later Fishing progression, while the value of higher-level fish has been reduced. Fish from around Level 30 onwards were simply becoming far too profitable compared to other activities.

Mining, Smithing, and Crafting have also received progression adjustments. XP rates, unlock levels, and other values have been reviewed to bring the different professions closer together.

Crafting locations have also been reconsidered. Available recipes are now distributed more intentionally between different stations and settlements, giving individual locations a stronger identity instead of allowing every workshop to produce everything.

Better Gameplay Feedback

Low Health and active Heal-over-Time effects now receive additional visual feedback, making your character's current condition easier to recognize at a glance.

Quick Time Event rewards for Processing skills have also been adjusted, and nighttime weather effects are now more transparent so they complement the environment instead of overpowering it.

Fixes & Improvements

Several reported issues have been addressed, including the recently discovered problem that prevented Cooking Stations from being used.

Hammer speed and efficiency now correctly affect Smithing, displayed travel times properly include modifiers such as Agility, Session Loot clears correctly, and Fishing Bait consumption has been corrected.

Several smaller UI, layout, and environmental issues have been fixed as well.

As always, you can find the complete patch notes on our website.

Thank you for all the feedback and bug reports. Especially with the amount of new systems currently being introduced, your reports continue to be incredibly helpful in finding issues quickly and improving the overall balance of the game.

See you in Vellgar!
