0.3.0 - Wolves, Western Forest and Save Slots

Wolves

• A wolf den in Forest Hollow, with three new wolf types alongside the standard wolf.
• Swift wolves are quick skirmishers that lunge and fall back. Dire wolves are twice the size, hit hard enough to throw you, and never retreat.
• The silver alpha howls the first time it sees you, waking every wolf in the den.
• Each packmate that dies while the alpha is fighting makes it faster and quicker to strike, up to four times over. It calms down only if you break away and it walks home.

Spiders

• Spiders pounce, leaping on an arc that lands where you are standing.
• The tutorial cave spiders climb walls after you if you jump out of reach.

New ground

• Western Forest, a new area west of Forest Hollow.
• Emberwyn Village is its own place now, with its own music, its own name on save slots, and its own approach from the west.

Saving

• A real save library: 12 manual saves and 5 autosaves, each with a screenshot, timestamp, location and form.
• Autosaves are pruned separately, so a run of checkpoints can never push out a save you made on purpose.
• Autosaves fire on checkpoints, aspect slots and major pickups.
• Saving no longer stutters the game — the write happens in the background.

Tutorials

• Mechanics are taught the first time they come up, in a box with a live demonstration looping inside it — a real dragon running the real move, not a video.
• Lessons for rolling and for stunning enemies. All of them stay re-readable in the journal.
• Reward and tutorial popups can no longer be dismissed by accident: the confirm prompt fades in after a couple of seconds, so a held jump won't close something before you've read it.

Menus and art

• Rebuilt in-game menu panels and tabs.
• The System tab now uses the menu's own typography.
• New Speed aspect icon, repainted forest village tilesets, more forest decoration.

Fixes

• The player no longer falls through one-way platforms when the world shifts underfoot.
