Hello, Soul Seekers! 👋
The wait is finally over. We're so thrilled to announce that Into The Fire Open Playtests are officially LIVE on Steam!
Starting today, you can step into the catastrophe zone, rescue survivors and animals, explore the island, expand your Camp, and experience the latest version of Into The Fire for yourself.
Whether you're returning from our previous playtests or entering the fire for the very first time, we can't wait to hear what you think.
The latest Into The Fire build is now available to play on Steam till September 7th.
Since our previous round of testing, we've spent a lot of time going through your feedback and working on the parts of the game that needed more clarity, depth, and polish.
The result is a build with more structure to each expedition, more reasons to explore the island, new ways to interact with the world, and plenty of changes for returning Soul Seekers to discover.
And yes, animal rescue is finally here. 🐕
If you've already played Into The Fire, there's plenty waiting for you in this build.
We've completely reworked the tutorial and introduction, expanded the quest structure with a proper Main Quest, and introduced unique Area and Gate Quests that give individual districts their own objectives, obstacles, and alternative routes.
Exploration has also received some love. You'll find more narrative collectibles, lore, environmental interactions, and Drop-off Boxes near extraction points containing additional loot.
The Camp has received multiple quality-of-life improvements, while performance, loading times, stamina, and the crosshair have also been improved.
We've also added full key remapping and new equipment to unlock, including the Jetpack and Flamethrower through the LAB quest. And, of course, you can now rescue animals and bring them back to your growing community. Just don't forget to build them a proper shelter before rescuing them.
There's much more to discover, but we'll leave some surprises for your expeditions.
The version you're playing today isn't set in stone. Throughout the playtests, we'll be actively updating and improving the build based on what we see in the data and, most importantly, what we hear from you.
We're especially interested in your thoughts on the new quest structure, exploration flow, Camp improvements, equipment, and how the overall experience compares with our previous playtests.
So please, keep the feedback coming. Report bugs, tell us what feels great, tell us what doesn't, and don't be afraid to challenge our decisions. That's exactly what these playtests are for.
