Demo 0.2.2 - Patch notes

Sword & Banner Playtest · published

Voices

  • Added proper voice actor unit barks for all races: selection, moves, attacks, holds, shield walls, volleys and charges
  • Added voice lines for victory, defeat and shield walls breaking; removed the old victory horn

Battles

  • Ordering a shield wall together with other units no longer disbands the wall
  • Victory no longer ends the battle instantly; look around and press Tab when done
  • Battle speed now correctly defaults to 3/4
  • Fixed archers overrunning their range on attack-move, and creeping into melee while firing on direct attack orders
  • Mixed selections now show all available abilities, not just the highlighted type's
  • Added attack range indicators for ranged units, merging when they overlap (Settings > Gameplay: hover / selected / always / never; hold Alt to show all)
  • Bigger unit click hitboxes: matches the hover circle and tracks knockback
  • Fixed deploying troops outside the deployment zone with a move order near the zone edge
  • Fixed shield wall units unable to reach enemies their own shields were pushing

Overworld

  • Your party and settlements now eat food types proportionally
  • Narrowed price swings: gluts are no longer near-free, shortages no longer gouge
  • Industries only demand inputs their stores actually lack, so trade routes exhaust and recover
  • Added a confirmation when a town can't fully pay for a trade
  • Recruit costs are now market-based: training fee plus gear at local prices, premium rising by tier. Upgrading your own units is always cheaper than buying elites
  • Fixed bandit camp fortifications adding phantom archers permanently
  • Fixed the "Whom do you aid?" prompt dead-ending if the battle resolved while it was open
  • Fixed the 0.2.1 all-wounded Army tab fix, which broke in the exported build
  • Loot from battles fought alongside another lord is now split by kills, not head-count

Quests

  • Fixed Forge an Elite not recognising Vanguard or Knight upgrades

Interface

  • UI scale now defaults to 100% true pixel scale (the old default softened everything by 1.25x)
  • Fixed the screen shake slider: every value above zero was identical. Now scales properly, defaults to 50%
  • Fixed the Menu button going off-screen at high UI scales
  • Quest tracker font moved onto the crisp pixel grid
  • Removed the marketplace panel titles; the silver counts stay pinned

General

  • Launching the exe directly now relaunches the game through Steam
