Chapter 3: Invisible Bridge

major update

FurryFury Soundtrack · published

Howdy good people (and beasts),
The update 0.95 is finally here. And in it: 3rd chapter of the adventure featuring unique arenas and new enemies, new customization category: Victory Background, beasts unique voices, new music and much more. Let’s jump right in!

New stuff:

  • 3rd chapter of adventure: featuring 3 new missions with unique arenas, new story comics, and new type of enemies only known as Lazors. They are nothing like you’ve seen before.
  • New customization category: Victory Background. Once you unlock Victory Customizations, you’ll be able to spend your hard-earned fireflies on chests containing awesome full-screen backgrounds. It is the only way to acquire them. Those backgrounds are shown after every victorious match. Let them losers witness your full awesomeness ]:B
  • Unique beast voices: every playable beast now has its own set of voiceovers for choosing them, gaining skills, taking solid damage and chatter. NPCs (like Shamshrul, training Dummy) and enemies also got their lines.
  • 13 New show-off effects to be found in chests, including 2 epic ones.
  • Two new music pieces: one extra for the menu and one for the 3rd chapter of adventure.
  • New event with Epic vampiric skin for Green, acquirable exclusively during this event.
  • New Shoppe option: quests refresher - for those who need that extra push. It cost only 2 Fireflies and lets you grind those Grubs anytime you want. Well, almost any time, it needs to recharge too.
  • Beta release for Android devices. Simultaneously with this patch, we release FurryFury on Android as open beta in few regions of the world, and as open preregistration in the rest.
  • PC-Android cross-platform multiplayer. You can now play whenever/wherever you want, competing against players from different platforms, climbing a single global leaderboard. We redesigned the match UI specifically for mobile devices, so you can maximize your skill. Hope you’ll like it.
  • News popup at the start of the game: we discovered that this is the best way to keep players aware of the latest updates. The popup shows only once so it shouldn’t be too annoying for those who know what’s going on.
  • In-game friends system: platform-independent friends, where you can invite players from different platforms using their nick and in-game tag. Friends from your platform are added automatically. For better distinction, every friend has an icon of his platform.

Changes/upgrades:

  • General game optimization: you should experience more FPS both during match and in the menu. We also managed to shorten the initial game loading. Also added a rolling beast animation instead of loading text so you know that the game is running and not hanging.
  • Quality setting: you can now choose between two settings; Ultra and Medium. Initial value will be set automatically based on your machine performance but you can always change it in settings.
  • Reconnection system: players with less stable internet connection are disconnected less often.
  • AI improvements, especially for beasts with low speed (like mummies or Shmashrul).
  • Gamepad support temporarily disabled. We started implementing controls for Nintendo Switch and realized that it's best to write the system from scratch. Apologies for the inconvenience, it should be back with the next update.
  • Ranking list now scrolls to your record automatically,
  • In Shoppe, chests now show how many various cards they still hold.
  • Co-op adventures now have different pictures, so you know exactly what threat you’ll face,
  • When clicking PLAY in Adventure mode, the game starts immediately now (before it was 1-5 seconds). Also added clicking sound to the button.
  • When you, the game or platform loses connection, the appropriate popup will show up.
  • Improved AI opponents cast: it’s now less likely to get twins in VS modes.
  • Changed XP gained and required for leveling up: leveling up is now faster.
  • Added notifications for avatars.
  • AI plan their moves faster.

Known issue:

  • Part of translations is missing in Czech, French, Italian and Russian languages. Missing texts are replaced by English. We are working on updating those translations (and the English proofreading).

Lastly, thanks to our supportive community and those who volunteered in closed beta tests on Android. Have a nice autumn and see you in the (cross-platform) arena!
