Proportions · published · build 18897350
Hey everyone 👋
It’s been a while since the last update, and I wanted to share with you — in full transparency — what’s been going on behind the scenes.
My goal was to let as many people as possible play together, even if only one person owned the game. So I spent the last couple of months working on a “friend pass” version of Proportions.
Unfortunately, I ran into technical limitations with how Steam handles AppIDs, and after many attempts, I had to accept that this approach just wasn’t going to work.
Instead of continuing to fight against these constraints, I’ve made a simple decision:
➡️ Proportions is now completely free for everyone.
I believe this is the best way to grow the community and make it easier for friends to play together without barriers.
To everyone who purchased the game before this change:
thank you so much for your support ❤️
You helped bring this project to life, and as a token of appreciation, you’re receiving exclusive customization options (🎩 hats) in this update.
Now that the game is free, I’ll keep working on new content and improvements — but I’m also exploring a new business model to make the game sustainable in the long run.
🧠 What I want to avoid:
I have no intention of turning Proportions into a pay-to-win game. Fairness and fun will always come first.
💡 What I’m considering:
Cosmetic items (more hats, accessories, skins…)
Map or game mode DLCs
🧑🤝🧑 Important: If one player owns a map DLC, everyone in their session will be able to play it, even if they don’t own it themselves. The goal is to never split the community.
These ideas are still in development, and I’d love to hear your feedback. The goal is simple: to keep Proportions growing while finding a way to make it financially viable, without compromising the player experience.
Thanks again for your patience and support.
Feel free to leave a review, share the game with friends, or join the community to give your thoughts!
See you soon in Proportions!
