Agari: what's new (1.6.1 to 1.7.1)

Agari — Riichi Mahjong · published

A summary of what's changed since the last patch notes.

  • Big performance & power-efficiency pass. A large part of this update focused on rendering the game more efficiently, cutting how much GPU work each frame takes. That means lower power draw: cooler, quieter machines and better battery life on laptops & Steam Deck.

  • Crisper tile art rendering. There's also a brand-new alternative tile design, "Kanso," an original Agari face set you can pick under Settings > Decor > Face Design alongside the default "Standard".

  • Online multiplayer stability. Several fixes make online matches more reliable and less likely to be interrupted.

  • Voice update. Mayumi's voice callouts have been re-recorded from scratch with a new performance. Stay tuned for additional voice character options over the next few months as I can arrange more recordings.

  • This release also includes AI decision-making fixes and additional stability and rules-accuracy improvements.

Thank you so much for playing Agari and for all of your continued feedback. I hope you enjoy the update!
