UPDATE 5 - The Fix Is In

The biggest update since launch. A criminal enterprise, a piece of stadium technology, a real job for the assistant - and the whole game got a photography pass.

Someone wants to buy your whistle

Before a big fixture, a consultant may want a word. What happens next is up to you:

  • Refuse — clean conscience. Though rumors have a way of starting anyway.
  • Report him — the FA opens a public inquiry, and the fixer's friends know who talked.
  • Take the money — and now you owe a performance. The fixer only pays on delivery.

Every fix leaves fingerprints. Investigations open, hearings get scheduled, and the panel has watched all the tapes. At the hearing you choose: say nothing, deny everything, or name the man — denial raises the stakes if they find you guilty anyway; confession buys leniency and burns the fixer's network.

The punishments are real: fines, suspensions you actually serve (the matchday passes without you), demotion — an elite referee can be stripped of FA status and sent down — and at the bottom of the ladder, expulsion. Career over. Permanently. Accepting a bribe in the Sunday League, where you have nothing left to lose but the badge itself, is the most dangerous deal in the game.

Integrity is a stat you live with. It follows you into every hearing.

Fix a match in front of your crew at your peril

On co-op career nights the deal stays live — but three humans are watching every call. Any crew member can anonymously report the officiating after the match. Report a fixed match and the finding is no longer a dice roll; when the verdict lands, everyone who worked the fixture carries the stain — except those who reported it. The centre keeps every penny. The crew keeps the record. Choose your ref carefully.

Goal-line technology

A rare, marginal moment: the ball trickles toward the line, the keeper claws it back — did it cross?

  • Top-tier stadiums have GLT: your watch buzzes. Goal, or no goal. The watch decided.
  • Everywhere else, you're the technology: award it by eye with the whistle, or let play run. Miss a real one and VAR may rescue you at the next stoppage — with a broadcast-style ball-on-the-line graphic at the monitor.

Being the assistant is a real job now

  • The game finally tells you how to do the job — and nudges you if you've done nothing all half.
  • The centre can overrule your flag on tight margins — and sometimes the replay proves you right.
  • New duty: when a player goes down near your line, judge the theatre — flag if you think he's faking. Accusing a genuinely hurt man costs you.
  • Your rating now rewards decisions, not just standing level with the line.
  • Co-op guests get YOUR CREW RECORD — your line work finally accumulates on your own machine, including any stains you pick up.

The game looks better. All of it.

A full presentation pass: proper color grading on every scene, contact shadows that plant players on the turf, a calmer broadcast palette, sharper sun shadows that connect to boots, one unified typeface. Same game, better photographed.

Also

  • TV-style red-card markers on the score bar (second yellows count; VAR rescinds remove them)
  • The GLT watch buzz has its own sound
  • An expelled referee's hub no longer politely offers CONTINUE. There is no continue.

Thank you for the feedback. More incredible updates are coming as we progress in the Early Access phase.
