I hope everyone is having a lovely fall. Thank you to all the players giving great feedback and reporting bugs.
Moldwood is now more straight forward for first time players, while providing many alternative and more advanced paths for more experienced ones.
Moldwood is not just reworked, but greatly expanded on. Lots of new routes and jumps.
Plasticine Membrane has been moved to be more intuitive to find.
A handful of new side-quests and npcs to talk to.
Total Config menu overhaul. Now split into four tabs.
Options for "dork" or "cinematic" hud, and able to toggle viewmodels on or off.
Three graphic settings, and an option to run a fast, simple grapple instead of high-fidelity simulated grapple.
Now a total of 23 teeth collectibles.
New item. Find it's hiding place, and be sure to bring enough teeth to unlock it!
Loading in for first time now has title card instead of initial spawn before resetting.
Find the festive gourd easter egg!
NOTE: Some of these additions might not register properly with pre-existing saves, if you want to fully experience the new update, a new save file is recommended. However, these are all minor dialogue updates and small interactions, so it is not really necessary.
Escape is now default menu button, and can exit out of sub menu's with it without fully unpausing.
Players now face the forward direction of the checkpoint on respawn.
Additional checkpoints and edited preexisting ones.
Air acceleration increased from 50 to 65.
Grapple pull strength increased, retract speed decreased.
Fixed a bug where killing the bloated spider in the secret slime room and reloading the world would result in the tooth pickup being permanently deleted.
Fixed a bug where players would "land" on surf ramps and could sometimes jump on them, causing weird movement issues.
"reset collision not always triggering and players getting stuck. should now be fixed" - from last patch notes, i was lying i guess. it SHOULD be fixed now though!
Lots of mini optimizations that hopefully boost performance for everyone.
As I continue developing, it will soon be time to stop adding any content to the demo so there is a big enough motivator for people to purchase the full game. I of course will continually update the demo whenever there is general additions/changes or bug fixes, but this is most likely the last content update for a while. I aim to have the next two chapters done by Summer time, but with how time-intensive making new sounds and claymation is I don't wanna promise a real release date. If enough people want to support it however, I am open to trying an early access paid release so I can support the development more long term. Anyway, thanks for playing, and let me know how you like the new update!
